I really love it, and I was half-expecting not to like it at all, given the previous Target ad leak. The moral of this tale: don't listen to shite-fi live audience boots.

Agreed. This is radio pop. Sad. What happened. Listen to No Code then this and really give an opinion.

God help if they ever release a fun radio song. It is so far beneath them to release a catchy song that will be fun to hear live and people outside of the diehards will like. I am really afraid now the new albulm will be Ten, part II and not No Code, part II.

Everyone is not going to like every song. I like it, and I am sure it is going to be much better live.

Some people would find a way to like - or atleast justify - PJ releasing an album of nursery rhymes.

I love Pearl Jam. They're my favourite band by a fair stretch. But I can't listen to this song.

I honsestly think some of you need to have your ears cleaned.
I heard that ear candles work really well in getting deep into the ears and pulling the crusties out

Anyways...The song is catchy, it'll do well on radio and will sound great live.
There's probably not another song on the album that sounds like it, and it sounds different than anything they've ever done before.

I''ll have to give it a few more listens before it really sinks in.
It's such a departure for them, but cool at the same time.

As for the lyrics, I think they serve the song and do what they have to do.
Not every song has to have deep profound life altering lyrics.
Sometimes it's just fun to write a catchy ass rock tune.

Part of the problem with World Wide Suicide is I felt there were too many lyrics. It seemed forced and like Eddie just had to write a political song.

I'm glad he eased up on this one. Simple lyrics were all that was needed here. Anything else would have weighed the song down.

Fine, then don't listen to it. Move on. But why feel the need to tell everyone else how bad it is???

I think it's really great. It's a perfect, catchy-as-hell single. It also sounds new and different and unlike anything else out there today. How can that be bad?

Fun radio song is fine but something like WWS is about as far as I go with that.

I know from past experiences that I will be flamed for this, but this song reinforces my suspicions that some weird, money hungry, sellout aliens have hijacked the band. This song is horrible, and I am sorry but got some is horrible as well. I know there are many defenders to the end who would listen to a 40 minute album of the band coughing and say it's their best album yet. We owe it to ourselves as fans of music to call bullshit when we here insincerity.

Sorry Eddie, gonna have to pass. It's not even good pop music.

The entire album has that "Unemploable" sound to it, and it is due to Vedders vocals being layered, and layered over and over due to his voice being somewhat "strained"..........

Any word on the purchase of this single? How about SUPERSONIC (you all will like that 1 much better)

Just because it's different doesn't mean it's any good.

I don't mean to sound like a knob. People like that they like, that's fine. But this isn't... Pearl Jam. And I know they don't have to fit a mould... but No Code is a good way of not fitting the mould... releasing NAIS as a single is a good way of not fitting the mould... The Fixer is just bad.

Right. There are many "Fans" that will listen to anything Pearl Jam and say it is amazing regardless. Call a spade a spade.

    that is one awesome tune

everyone stop comparing it to every song they can think of in the back catalogue and enjoy it for what it is.

    This is a real gem.

    Agree to agree.

...although it does remind me of the pop brilliance of State of Love and Trust which, for some reason, no one ever comments on as being a pop song. Sorry for the comparison. ;)

Cool. I'll have to wait after work and listen to it again, and again... I mean, yes, it's better than a lot of the shit that you can listen on the radio but... Got Some had more meat!

As for Kurt, don't know man. I think that he actually left his coffin when N'Stink and Shit Bizkit sold more than a million of copies of their albums in one week... Poor guy!

I always have a hard time understanding people honestly disliking whatever their favorite couple of bands come out with new. I mean to each their own I guess.

Only listened to it once...it's ok, but nothin special. Maybe a few repeat listens will change my mind. I much prefer "Got Some". I hope this song clicks for me at some point, cause right now, it's very average.

And I really liked the s/t album. I'm not sure why it gets so much crap. Oh well, to each his/her own. Hell, I like "God's Dice" and "Help, help" a lot too, so maybe I'm just crazy.

I like the song. Not a favorite ever, and yeah, it is a poppy song, but why is that a bad thing? I like the fact that- like many of my favorite Pearl Jam songs- I can place my own meaning to the song, and not listen to it as a specific story, it can have a different meaning for a different mood on a different day. THAT is something that Pearl Jam has been and done for me over the years, making them my favorite band......
Just a reminder to those who are crying about "________ was such a great album...NOW look at them"...Pearl Jam isn't your best kept secret anymore. They are a MAINSTREAM Band. If you really listened to the band and their Indie sentiments, you would still thank them for turning attention to smaller music markets, but when you have a fan base of millions worldwide, how "Indie" can you be?
There are quite a few "Holier than thou" people on these boards. I say Enjoy the music. Be happy that OUR band is still making music for us. My kids are loving this song...all morning my 4 year old has been running around singing "yeah yeah yeahhh" :D

I wasnt floored by it by any means, but I liked it. I will have a few more listens and commit a little more in either direction.
