"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
I do wish Mikey was given more to do here--it could use a full on solo in the middle or at the end.
Not every song needs a guitar solo.
Agreed. But the song builds up right after the bridge and that would be a good spot for some soloing or some sort of guitar lick with some bite. But whatever, I like the song.
So this life is sacrifice...

To me, one of the absolute strengths of Pearl Jam is how versatile they are musically. How many styles and feelings and atmospheres they can put into their songs and do it well and write great songs. This song just adds to that. When I listen to a new Pearl Jam song, I don't expect to be able to pigeonhole the song into a specific category, because of their musical history.
This, I think, doesn't feel unnatural for them at all. It's a part of their natural progression. I absolutely love it.
The lyrics are indeed terrible. The music is good, but it can't make up for the annoying verse melody and throwaway lyrics. Worlwide Suicide was a much better song. I don't understand why Ed is not putting effort into the lyrics and song ideas, Got Some was a bit better, but extremely simple too. It reminds of the Strokes last album, where after listening to Juicebox (a song with bad lyrucs I like) you could tell they were done and had nowhere else to go.
I can see the reason for the short tour, if the band had to play this every other night for 60 shows they would shoot themselves.
catchy song...has that sense of urgency that most great rock songs do...a definite car ride, volume up song...like it a lot and will even more w/each listen...nice work fellas!!!...viva la pearl jam..
um...not liking it too much. On my 5th listen. A little too repetitive/simplistic for my PJ tastes. I hear a bunch of Unemployable in here. And I never liked that song that much.
Whatever...I'm sure I'll love the album. Just was hoping for something a little stronger out of the gate.
Hmm, ok I had to listen too. On first listen I didnt think much of it, but it has a catchy quality over it. I really like it now and will be listening all day today!
Actually I've really thought from the first moment I heard this track that it was reminiscent of Big Wave more so than Unemployable, and I'm a little surprised more people haven't mentioned the same thing (that I have seen at least).

everyone stop comparing it to every song they can think of in the back catalogue and enjoy it for what it is.

That made me laugh aloud.

You rock! Thanks!
The chorus is fine, it would be better if the verses were not asanine and made the chorus something you could get behind.
Whatever...I'm sure I'll love the album. Just was hoping for something a little stronger out of the gate.
It is a bit poppy, but I like it.

Agreed. This is radio pop. Sad. What happened. Listen to No Code then this and really give an opinion.
