no way a hotel in that location should be ranked as high as 3 stars...not the nicest part of town. and as has been mentioned in this thread...give yourself ample time to get to the shows...traffic sucks in that area

good luck...let me know if you have any questions. I would NOT recommend that area though

I just got the Crown Plaza for $60 per night as well.

Staying thursday thru sunday.

i WISH i waited....
actually, i wish i got in on the radisson deal, waited on that :? ....then after that i felt the need to rush, figuring all the hotels would fill up quickly, duh. definitely could've done better waiting it out longer as illustrated above. see if you can still jump in on that $60 rate mauichick outlines a few posts up!

Ok so I'm a little late on the hotel thing here and I'm thinking of trying Priceline for a 3 star hotel downtown. Are there any crappy hotels I might get stuck with? Any Philidelphians know of any locations outside of the downtown area that are still pretty close to the historic area and sightseeing stuff?

you can check out the hotels before bidding. go to priceline and plug in downtown Philly and 3 stars or above and see what the selection looks like before you do the name your own price thing.

just scanning the downtown hotels, the 3's don't look bad to me. even getting into the 2's would be ok in my book.

I got a room at the Crown Plaza in downtown for Friday and Saturday night for $60 dollars a night last Thursday on Priceline. So there are still good deals out there.

Just scored a room at the Aloft Philadelphia Airport Hotel for $64/night on Priceline. Seemed like a pretty good deal. Has anyone ever stayed there before?

I am stupid like you my friend. My buddy and I got tix for nights 2,3 and 4 and havent booked anything yet either. We were actually looking at the Holiday Inn, how do you feel about 2 roomates??
