Yes Shepherd's Bush Empire is GA. There are seats in the balconies.
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

Any cheap hotels near Sheperds Bush?
A whole line of them along Shepherd's Bush Road.

Hinn's place is also a cheap hotel, if by cheap you mean free and by hotel you mean a couch under a roof, with the added rule that you have to get the fuck outta the next day cos I gotta fly to Amsterdam.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that I hope whatever allotment of tickets 10C ends up with (if any) go to local fans, as they did with, I believe it was tickets for the Letterman aftershow gig for New Yorkers. If they can do it for them, no reason why it couldn't be done for us.
Agreed. By local, gotta start with those within a 2 mile radius. Then move out.
That makes no sense at all. I agree with localizing it, but to start with a 2 mile radius would be ridiculous. They should figure out an appropriate radius that would make people "local" (likely all of London) and let all of those people fight for the tickets.

Makes sense to me. Cos I'm exactly 2 miles from there. Was about 1.5 until I moved house 3 weeks ago. So I get first dibs.

Localizing shows is unfair in my opinion. What if you live in Alaska a place where PJ doesn't even play arena shows, but you can't go to a small gig in London. Totally unfair in my opinion.

Unfair has nothing to do with it. I demand to have dibs to a show that I can crawl to my knees on, and if that's what it takes, I'll do it! :P

See, I'm considered Greater London but I am actually closer to Shepherd's Bush than what is called City of London....

    This could be fun.....

i'm seeing pj at the 02 arena in london and staying for a week! HOWEVER, i won't be there yet when this takes place!! go figure!!!! argggg! wouldn't it make much more sense to play this gig before the other london show rather then traveling back and forth! ahh .. i can't be too greedy but this would have been off the hook.

I live in Poland and have my 10C address here but I spent 25 years pretty close to London. Forget postcodes, anyone who who is mad enough to travel to the ends of the earth for something should get a ticket. They'll get one anyhow if they really want one...
we're all going to the same place...

I was born in Goldhawk Road, a hop, skip and a jump from the Empire. So I am claiming my tickets through a little known, ancient birth rite ;);)

But what about those of us who currently don't have a London postcode (live just outside) but have lived/worked for the last 13 years in London??? This could get complicated

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

I have to say, I cannot stand that venue. I mean it's great if you're at the very front, but the stage is seriously low and the floor is flat (unlike Brixton Academy where it slopes upward towards the back) making for a poor view if you're on the floor.

actually it doesn't utterly stop it and considering the price those kind of shows command, the tout is still money in if they buy 2 and resell the one (then go out again).
But it limits it a bit sure.

Well, at Bob Dylan when you picked up the ticket they immediately wristbanded you and your guest. Only with a wristband and the ticket were you allowed in.
And at The Who you had to had to enter the venue the minute you picked up the ticket at the venue. The same with Tom Waits (his shows actually required you name your guest within a week of buying the tickets too).
So it did stop most of the touting. I remember checking eBay for those gigs and there were none on sale, highly unusual for bands with hardcore fan bases who can normally sell out arenas, don't you think?
it does severely limit it yes, but that was the same system for the vic and there was still some touting apparently.
on the flip side, it can really fuck you up if for whatever reason out of your control you can't make the show anymore.. (not something that'd happen to me at She Bu though.. I'd have to be dead or in a coma not to make it!)

How many of us are desperate enough to cave into the touts if the need arises? because that in itself makes sure the twats will be at the the gig the next time and the time after. Its a difficult one to combat as because we all want to be there we give them business

Not me. I never have and I never will. Even if I didn't need the money for other things, I wouldn't resort to that.
my feelings exactly, if you feed the rats you can't complain about the plague.

as for the general sale (the presale is through HMV site, it says so in the details on their site), I'd think the usual places: TM, Seetickets, Stargreen and Ticketweb.

Shepherds Bush is where all the non-asylum seekers/druggies hostels of London are now. plenty of cheap places if you don't mind hostels.

yeah, you'd get screwed if they go by postcode 'cos yours is not 'London' but you are way closer than someone in N or E or SE ones!
so the miles radius works better ;).. I figure you'd need 4, maybe 5 to get included.

    6 days to go,

I'm still holding out for ten cloub tickets.

Maybe an email from kat along these lines: -

'because we love you and appreciate your dedication to all things PJ, and your continued unwavering support, please check inside your cart, because we slipped a pair of gratis tickets in there for the club show, peace kat x'.....
