Really enjoyed my first 2 listens, waiting for my purple and gold vinyl to supposedly arrive Friday. They have been on Rick Rubin's podcast recently. First was John, then John and Anthony, then I think the rest join. I'm only halfway thru the John and Anthony one but John's was really enjoyable first. He has an incredible memory of starting/getting into the band, first shows, etc.
Agreed! That John interview was great!
Flea has a recent one on Maron's WTF podcast that was pretty great too.

Both podcasts made it sound like they recorded 40 plus songs while making this album. I got the impression from Flea that there is already a game plan for the other songs, would be amazing if they hit us with another album by years end.

Yeah, I liked how Maron pushed him about the other songs...hoping he would tell him, but no luck.

I snagged the Walmart blue. If it sounds as good as it should then I’ll be set. If not, I’ll return it and go with a black deluxe version. The blue is a perfect color for this.
The actual Lakers branding is a nice touch on the purple and gold.
Not too happy with the mangled corner, but I am not going through the hassle of contacting anyone. Excited to spin tonight
Fucking USPS. They just don't care.

For the people that pre-ordered the album from their site, did you ever receive the download code? I received an email saying I would have the download when the record was released. Still nothing.

I got a link, but it downloaded a photo of the WB logo, no music. No biggie.

Thanks! Yeah, same here! I wanted to throw it on my phone. Streaming it through Amazon music has been spotty for some reason.

Solid new record. Not everything I hoped it would be, but still enjoyable! Let em cry was probably my favorite after first listen. I still really like Black summer and poster child as well.

These Are The Ways, Great Apes and It’s Only Natural are standouts for me.
I’ve read a lot of reviews and write ups of this album and one thing I’ve noticed is everybody has different favorites. My standouts have changed a few times over the past week. The second half has been getting a lot of my attention lately. Songs like White Braids, Veronica, and bastards of light. They didn’t really stand out first listen but they’ve crept up.
My purple and gold should finally come tomorrow. I also got the download link that was just an image when downloaded. I emailed them and they sent me a direct link.
