How awesome would it be if they served heineken at this festival. Most places I go to now have molson canadian/coors light exclusive contracts. I can't stand Molson Canadian, so I order coors, but its weak :(

I'm Canadian and I don't like any of our standard cheap beers. Canadian, Blue, Kokanee, LGD etc... aren't actually good. All the TV ads talk like Canada makes the best beer. When you compare us to American Beer, we look like champs, but when you compare us to global beer, its a no contenst.

Heineken, Amstel, Stella, Guiness, Boddingtons, Corona etc.. All my favorite beers are foreign.

Well except lucky lager.. its the best Canadian cheap beer :)

That being said thanks for the heads up on single day tickets. The website didn't give much notice, I might of missed it otherwise.

Wow! Pearl Jam returns to Calgary nearly four years after their explosive 2005 Saddledome concert.

This summer I'm volunteering in Zambia so I can't make it... But if they bring the intensity they normally bring I am sure this concert will be a profound experience for all in attendance!

All you Calgarians and Pearl Jam fans enjoy this one twice as much for me!

    Got mine too :)
your wait time is less than 1 minute....
didn't seem like very high volume - I'm on a crap connection and got thru easily....just checked again; 10:15 and they're still available. What's up Calgary?
That was by far the most I've ever paid to see PJ...$100, ouch.

Haha... and this PJ nut went VIP... with the hopes that someone better will be announced on Sunday... I'm still holding out for the Beastie Boys rumour that I keep hearing!
Looking at ticket prices, I'd say we can probably put the Sunday headliner rumours to rest...Sunday tix are way cheaper...you'd think if they had a band that was a comparable draw to PJ, the split would be more equal.

I did a search for some random quality bands for possible additions to Vfest and everyone is playing Lollapalooza. However, when I typed in Stone Temple Pilots on Ticketbastard is showed me Virgin Festival Vancouver and Virgin Festival Calgary so here's hoping. Maybe that's why tickets for Satuday are more expensive? PJ and STP?

Didn't STP play that festival in calgary last year? Maybe its hold over on the search engine from last year? That would be sweet though.

I'm guessing they're paying PJ quite a bit to go to calgary and there's no other days around it for PJ to spread out the costs of playing out there. I would think if they're were 2 big bands it'd cost even more.

take out pj and both days kinda suck. Add PJ and day 1 makes sense, and its only 20 bux more than a sunday ticket.

This morning, Sonic in Edmonton was playing Billy Talent, so I listened to see if there was a Virgin Fest comment at the end...instead he mentioned a mind-bogglingly huge concert announcement at noon today...dare to dream?

I guess, in Edmonton....'huge' could mean April Wine at Red's or some shit....

They've been pumping this huge announcement for a week now. They've called a news conference for whatever it's about. PJ is huge but I'm not sure it's worthy of a news conference lol. We can dream though! :D

hmmm...ya, not holding my breath :D Who could Sonic be promoting that is huge? Wouldn't the dino-rockers all be hyped by the Bear? Who is 'huge' and is currently announcing dates? Is U2? Maybe we'll get one of the other Virgin Fest-rumoured bands... Depeche Mode? Beasties? I dunno...
Guess we'll find out in a couple hours.

I've never been to a festival/outdoor type concert. What does it take to get somewhere near the stage? Getting there early? Pushing your way up? Both? I'm big and tall so that's not an issue but my wife isn't as sturdy if that makes any sense.

I'd like to say I didn't do the exact same thing the exact same way.

    ...

    Unfortunately, I'd be lying.
