The best news I've heard in a loooooong time !! Awesome !!

Would there be a fear of this venue selling out ? Just interested in Saturday night,..but seems like I should buy weekend pass.

Cool for the Canada fans but can we hear some more U.S. dates like West coast dates please. :)
And don't forget Red Rocks ;) or at least Denver announcement.
So, What you Giving ?........ (Thanks Speedy, Alesek, & Arq+friends)
    What You Giving

I suggest you step out on your Porch.
Run away my son. See it all. Oh, See the World!

Oh wha? You DON'T want to be there for Billy Talent??? Why in heaven's name not? ;)

Just kidding, I really don't know. I also realized that the 35,000 is probably in reference to BOTH days, but still. It seems like a LOT of people for that venue and maybe NOT a lot of tickets depending on how the PJ headliner news goes over with the general public. To be safe I'm going to do the 2 day pass and maybe sell the Sunday ticket before the single day tickets go on sale thru Ticketbastard. This is all too random for me to even predict how this will go down.

I agree , Billy Talent, you have to be kidding me , what a waste of time and gas.
Thanks for your opinion, don't think I can risk not having a ticket for saturday night. I'll give away the sunday pass.

I'm glad others are thinking about the 2 day pass as well. I don't want to risk waiting for single day sales and somehow get shut out. Looks like there will be a lot of Day 2 passes for sale!

i wouldn't have believed it otherwise, but now that we've received official confirmation of a PJ stop in Calgary i'd expect that rumored Boise concert to happen either before or after the Calgary stop.
It will certainly be interesting to see how the rest of the tour shapes up. Since the 10C did say that the plans were North Western US in the early fall, I still think what we'll get is those rumoured Seattle dates on Sept 22/23 to coincide with Backspacer's release, followed by other shows in the North West like Boise, Portland, Casper, Denver, SLC, etc. There would still be time for about 6 shows before ACL. I would guess California shows would then follow in early to mid October with hopefully some other places in the south getting shows.

then again, if there is one thing I have learned this year from Pear Jam it is that geography doesn't always dictate where two consecutive shows will be ... so we'll jsut have to wait and see!

you're right, for all we know the potential Boise date could be around the Seattle dates. i mentioned Boise in the same breath as Calgary because of their proximity, but Seattle is obviously right there as well. Looks good for the entire region as a whole, but this criss-crossing back and forth business is a hassle to say the least,...

I don't want to start a new thread just for this question, so if someone could PM me the answer or just post below:

I have been collecting posters since 2005. Since that time I haven't been to a PJ festival. Obviously I would like to know if Pearl Jam will be doing their limited edition posters for them?

I had no trouble getting them last year--but yeah, there's no sense in risking not getting Pearl Jam tickets. The Day #2 line-up's at least vaguely palatable; I've never seen Metric or Tokyo Police Club, and while I don't like Billy Talent's music they've done a lot of really great work the MS Society of Canada, so I'll be happy to give them another chance.

    Ah, good times.

It's like they're touring by festival only, with a sprinkling of some single shows in a few cities. Must be an easy way of touring without actually calling it a "tour".

    hilarious.
The lineup is almost embarassing, isn't it? I'm mildly interested in seeing Metric, but fack...I could have for like $20 in a tiny club last year  hardly seems worth staying in Calgary on a Sunday for. Then again...we just had Boonstock up here...Default, Finger 11, Bif Naked, um....I dunno who else. ya. PJ is a fucking coup for an alberta rock festival....which makes me think it was more PJ saying 'festival? no gear to haul? Calgary was fun in 05, lets do this one...'
The ads all say 'and many more' so who knows?....maybe we'll get lucky and they'll add another headliner.

anyway...I'm getting my travel tunes together for a vacation, then I'm off....PJ is comin to AB...all is good in the world....an early Happy Canada Day, eh!

This Virgin Festival sounds like a great place to meet chicks.

Not as good as the Dirty Whore Festival in Winnipeg, though.
