The fact that literally millions of Americans still approve of the job the man is doing, a man so lacking in quality of character and imagination as to appear as a caricature of his own very cartoonish self... that is a very dicey line to cross. How in the holy almighty fuck does one approve of that man?

i know. it was just a funny way to put it. i've heard familiar with the situation, or familiar with the conversation, just never heard familiar with their reactions before. i could see how trump supporters would look at that and scoff.
But that isn't fake news. You're right, they'd call it that. But saying "according to so-and-so" is far from being fake news. It's actually quite transparent. They are specifically telling people that they don't know for sure, they are just reporting what was said by others. Nothing fake or misleading about that. Fake would be if they literally made it all up and claimed otherwise, and nobody has a real reason to suspect that... not that plenty of dummies don't think it anyway.

"According to people familiar with their reactions" is still them saying "all we know is what these people familiar with their reactions said". There is nothing wrong with that. They are being transparent by saying it that way.
if it's intentionally false, misleading, or sensationalized, it is. that's the definition.

If the words are uttered from a known, long time racist in the midst of an immigration policy meeting...then 'yes'... the comment was racist (among many other things).
If such a comment was made between two sparring buddies on a message board having fun with each other... then 'no'... the comment would not be racist.
