Nobody sits like this rock sits. You rock, rock. The rock just sits and is. You show us how to just sit here and that's what we need.

Don't let the world bring you down, not everyone here is that fucked up and cold. Remember why you came and while you're alive, experience the warmth before you grow old.

Best two days of my life: Oasis at MSG and Pearl Jam at the Gorge.
  • my top 4, not necessarily "the best" (except for mike patton, who is actually the BEST)

    eddie (Pearl Jam)
mike (Faith No More, Mr Bungle, etc...)
    mike (Opeth)
    Jonsi (Sigur Rós)
  • I love the fact that whenever someone makes a thread like this people inevitable post a bunch of people that in the grand scheme of rock music really don't matter at all and won't be remembered for shit, past like, I don't know, next week?

Or people post singers who, while successful in the careers, quite honestly have god awful voices.

I will leave it to you guys to figure out exactly what "vocalists" i am talking about.

You can't turn a subject like this into one with right answers. What constitutes a top vocalist is very much a matter of perspective. When I see threads like this, I assume they mean "favorite," not best. If we were to do top ten best vocalists, we would all but eliminate rock vocalists. There have certainly been some people listed that I would strongly disagree with, but that's just me. Whatever reaches your soul.
It makes much more sense to live in the present tense.
  • not in order, and just today's list

    Eddie Vedder
    Leonard Cohen
    Fiona Apple
    David Eugene Edwards
    Antony
    Andrew Bird
    Cat Power
    Robert Plant
    Nick Cave
    Aretha Franklin

@ above posts, these aren't the people i necessarily consider to be the 'best singers', so much as those whose vocal work i enjoy the most. big difference, and i should imagine that's how most people have interpreted this thread. million high fives that!
