I don’t know if they’re on a hiatus or not. It’s going to be summer soon and you’d think they would be touring. But Brian is just playing a few dates solo. I wonder if that huge tour last year with the Counting Crows burned them out for touring right now or maybe it was financially beneficial enough for them to take time off. I’m leaning towards the burned out part. Alex Levine lives in the same town I do and I bumped into to him last spring in the supermarket. While chatting with me, he brought up the then upcoming tour that summer and he was like… “yeah… it’s going to be a lot of shows”. In a way that led me to believe that he knew it was going to be exhausting.

Just got back from the Brian Fallon show at the Stone Pony. It was hot. It was crowded. It was awesome! Brian sounds awesome and we got a really great cross section of his solo stuff and some fun covers. The set list has a ton of energy and the newest songs sound great. Best of all… we got a Gaslight Anthem reunion at the end. The rest of the guys came out and took over on stage. Brian had started Here’s Looking At You, Kid by himself and the rest of the band came on stage and joined in. Then we got Great Expectations, 45 and The 59 Sound to close out the show. It blew the roof of the club. Danny Clinch was also there taking photos. So unexpected and amazing. We had a great time. Fantastic seeing them in a small club. Huge smiles from all the TGA guys during their set. I don’t think we have anything to worry about with them. They seemed to love being out there together. Epic night!

That's so cool. Its kind of funny because back in 2020 (and then also in 2021 I think), when Brian was scheduled to play solo at Ohona, I had envisioned the band joining him on stage like that towards the end of his set. I believe the band had not officially reunited at that point but there were rumors so I was thinking/hoping that maybe an on-stage reunion during his solo set at Ohana would be the official indicator of them getting back together. As it turns out, I think Brian ended up not playing at Ohana at all, so that little fantasy of mine had no chance of happening. So cool that they did that at the Stone Pony, wish I was there!

It was a lot of fun. And the 10 minute ride home after the show was a much appreciated blessing after a concert on a Sunday night. 😁

He did post the other day that he will be announcing more dates soon. Also, he’s got Emily Wolfe touring with him and she’s from Texas so hopefully they make it there. 👍🏻

FYI… if you’re going to the show, make sure you grab a poster! I bought one and just assumed that they were printed to look like Brian signed them. And I just saw Brian posted a video on Instagram showing that he signed every poster! I almost didn’t get it because they weren’t screen printed. 🤣

I loved them pre-hiatus and things have not clicked the same way for me post-hiatus. It’s felt off since the 59 Sound show I saw in 2018.

I oddly feel the same way. LOVED TGA from 2010-2018ish. Was at the 59 Sound reunion shows in DC, which to this day were 2 of the best shows I've ever been to.

With that being said, it fell off hard for me after that, and I just could not get into the newest album the way I had in the past. At this point, I don't have a huge desire to see them unless they're playing down the road. Not sure why...
