I showed up shortly after the brewery opened this afternoon expecting a Pearl Jam merch line.  I was the only one there 😂

Had a great time at last night’s show.  Happy to be outside near the beach in the summer and makes me sad that we can’t get a proper PJ amphitheater summer tour in the US these days.  The band and Brian sounded great. Loved the setlist and the tight curfew kept Brian’s chit chat to a very pleasant minimum.  It was a really great show.  😄

Absolutely. I really frickin' love this new album, and I wondered if i would ever be able to say that about another TGA album ever again. Very happy they came back strong.

My oldest is at Sea Hear Now tonight.  He’s at the stage for Gaslight Anthem and Bruce just came out to play with them.  They played History Books and American Slang together.

Just picked up a ticket for the Sydney show. After the 9 month gap between buying PJ tickets and the shows next week, it’s nice to only have to wait 3 weeks until GA get here.

    Tuesday night’s setlist in Sydney:

    1. Handwritten
    2. American Slang
    3. Biloxi Parish
    4. The Patient Ferris Wheel
    5. We Came To Dance
    6. Positive Charge
    7. Mae
    8. The Spirit of Jazz
    9. Keepsake
    10. Michigan, 1975
    11. Mulholland Drive
    12. Sweet Morphine
    13. Film Noir
    14. Howl
    15. Ocean Eyes
    16. Blue Jeans and White T-Shirts
    17.  Miles Davis and The Cool
    18. 45
    19. The 59 Sound
    20. The Backseat

Like PJ last week, this is the first time in 10 years that TGA have been to Australia. I got a front row spot on the balcony so I had a clear view all night (no 6.5ft giants in front of me!)

The band were really tight and sounded great. Brian was in a fun mood, he didn’t talk much in between songs but when he did it was pretty funny. He talked about how everything here can kill you and that we have no rules (“and you think our country is fucked up!”). His big idea was “to ship all of the stupid people in America over to Australia… hear me out… because there’s no way they’d survive over here!”

Looks like Gaslight Anthem may be touring with Counting Crows this summer.   Not sure I can sit through a Counting Crows show… not even to see TGA.  Counting Crows are the only show I’ve ever seen that I would describe as terrible.

I liked the first two Counting crows albums but I've never seen them and I've heard they're not very good live. I would much rather see TGA as the main act with a crowd that's into their music.
