    Hey mate,

23rd July in the UK and 24th in the US..so for us Aussies, somewhere around there.

Glad you like the new song- I think it is better than most of American Slang.

I am also excited about this new album. To me, they sound like Bruce Springsteen and Social Distortion had a musical baby. Although, I do hear some other traces of influence in the new song. In any event, I have enjoyed each of their first three albums and eagerly await the fourth.

I don't know how I'm coming to this conclusion, but i think this will be their best album. 45 is a crackin song and I just have a feeling that this album will be very strong

I've been thinking the same. 45 is a great song....I've been listening to that non-stop lately. 2 more months of waiting for the new album will be rough...

I was just mentioning to my wife that I truly think they are on the cusp of greatness. I am excited to see their journey.

Are you being sarcastic? GA has taken over the slot for my favorite non-pj bands many years ago, but I'm not digging the Handwritten cover art. American Slang had a great cover.

No I'm not. I love this new cover. American Slang too.

I really am super stoked to go see these guys! It will be my first time seeing them and my first show since I saw Dropkick Murphys in Philly about 4 years ago. Lived on an island in Alaska for 4 years and didn't get out much :) It's gonna be a blast :D

New gaslight website and fan club is up.

    www.gaslightanthem.com

Fan club seems very familiar. As you may know Brian is a ten club member and huge PJ fan.

Let's see if they get their holiday single out during the holidays!

The 45 RPM has to be run by the same people right? I mean that description is word for word the same as the 10C. Should be awesome and I know my 45 RPM number will be a lot better than my 10C number

Brian said on Facebook that he is a member of 10c and that he is basing their fan club on it

Brian posted this on their tumblr. He's not even pretending that their club isn't a carbon copy. Which I love.

PJ really needs to take this band out on the road next year. Would love to see Ed take Brian under his wing like Neil and PT have done for him.

And they're gonna have bootlegs too!

    FAN CLUB!!!!

So with this record I’ve been working on being more consistent. You see, before, I’d just say things, whenever the mood struck me day to day because I figured no one really pays attention to my babble.  So one day I’d feel one thing, and the next something different… I’m a weirdo, and a little bit of a hippy.

Anyhow, now that I realize people are actually listening to what I say, I figure I’d better get consistent.  …and quick… so I said there’d be a fan club, and THERE IS!!!!

The 45RPM Club!  You can find it on our new site… http://www.thegaslightanthem.com

So here’s some things I wanted to point out about it…

    1. First, I’m a member of the 10 Club from Pearl Jam (obviously) and there were some big kinks there when they first started it, but I’ve found that now it works pretty well as far as tickets and merch, so we’re gonna use a similar model (the same) so that it works out how I have found my experience with PJ has worked, which is great.

    2. The Forum, this is an Official Gaslight Forum, but it’s not the only one… we also have a Fan Run forum called Dimestore Saints (http://thegaslightanthem.bigforumpro.com/)
and you can choose whatever you want to use.  The Dimestore Forum is great and I back it
so that’s gonna stay for fans by fans.  I guess we’ll try to do some different stuff on our forums, like official bootlegs and things like that.  But as with the 10 Club, all the things take time, so it won’t all be ready to go at once.  But we will try to have special things at our Official Forum from time to time, but for consistent and up to the minute stuff, Dimestore Saints is a great place to check out and hang with some really nice people.

That’s pretty much all I can think of that I wanted to address right now, I’m sure more will come soon.

    Enjoy and thanks for joining!

    I've got
    'Sink or Swim' on vinyl,
    but ''59 Sound'
    is a stronger album.
    Just sayin'...
    Cheers.
'Cause you don't give blood and take it back again.

Guessing we won't know our numbers until we get our cards in the mail. The site they used sells other stuff too so those order number are probably just for the store in general. Either way, those of us who joined yesterday will end up with good numbers no matter what. We can all say that we were literally members since Day 1.
  • sickgirlsickgirl Posts: 139
I was wondering the same thing about the order numbers being the membership numbers. I'm thinking though, that the order number is for the whole site that day, you know? Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Glad I got all signed up yesterday, that's pretty cool. Can't wait til July 7th, ahhh
