what is that exactly, and where can i find that song?
It was a song written about Layne Staley, and the title refers to the date that his body was found. You can find it on the second disc of Lost Dogs, a few minutes after the last track.
As for the most emotional song, I would say either Black, or All or None.
The car's on fire and there's no driver at the wheel
And the sewers are all muddied with a thousand lonely suicides
corduroy is my favourite song.....I play it constantly.....he really seems to get places with it.....I feel something strong.....heh.....I love it....I can't express it......corduroy.....yes!!!!
....they're asking me to prove why I should be allowed to stay with my baby in Australia, because I'm mentally ill......and they think I should leave......
A lot of people think it's about celebrity and being famous and such and such...
But if you ask me, it's about love. It's about someone Eddie loved at some point in his life, that didn't love him back. It is my favorite song as well.
it's so passionate.....I play it over and over again.....not in a hateful way....passionate.....so strong.....absolutely nothing's changed
....they're asking me to prove why I should be allowed to stay with my baby in Australia, because I'm mentally ill......and they think I should leave......
i'd have to say that Release is by far the most emotional song that Eddie has ever written, there's so much meaning and power behind it, i mean he couldn't even bring himself to write the lyrics in the Ten booklet
If I knew where it was I would take you there, there's much more than this!
i think it's binaural. i dont have much of an argument on the band's behalf, but for me personally, this song has as much personal weight with me as anything else out there, including classical music (which is a huge deal to me).
that is the most emotional song that eddie v. sings
"And wherever you've gone and wherever we might go.
It don't seem fair for days just disappeared.
Your light's reflected now. Reflected from afar.
We were but stones. Your light made us stars."
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"
Can't argue against the previous listings, but I think there's something very emotional in Light Years. It's Ed crying out that this person is gone and he can''t understand why.
"with heavy breath, awakened regrets
back pages and days alone that could have been spent, together..
but we were miles apart
every inch between us becomes light years now
no time to be void or save up on life
you got to spend it all.."
Honerable mention: Man of the Hour
"No time to be void or save up on life...
You got to spend it all."
would this be the most emotional song, or the most emotion put in to a song?
If it is the first, I will have to go with Black. There's no denying its the most emotional, and if most emotion put in to a song, I will go with Black. lol.
Lets see all the ones i tihnk are the most emotional songs ed wrote:
Black
Light Years
I'm Still Here
4/20/02
Last Soldier
Release
Honorable Mentions: SMILE, THUMBING MY WAY
There ya have it!
there'll be time for laughin'
there's no time to cry
soon i will be leavin'
look me in the eye
no matter what's in front of me
it's your face that i'll see
I would have to say Black immediately comes to mind.. but how about Arc which was only performed live a few times, if you were lucky enough to be there, it was quite powerfull and emotional.
