    The PJ20 show was the 20th anniversary of Ten.
    The 20th anniversary of the first show was a Bridge School show the previous October.

    I would hope so, but given how the last few albums have faired after initial tours, I’m not positive.

    The last time a non album tour was inspired was the first time they did it in 2005.
    2008, 2011/12, 2018 all could have used a new record.  

    Going back a few pages, I think it’s inaccurate to say Pearl Jam hasn’t played 40 shows/year.  I think they got there, or close in 2022 and 2024 and they had close to 50 shows scheduled in 2020 including a September leg that was not announced.
    In a couple cases they split the tours for a record over two calendar years.  For instance 2009/10 had quite a few shows in a ten month stretch and 2013/2014 had a lot of shows in a 12 month stretch.  They also played quite a lot of shows from Sept 2023-May 2025.
    I would much rather have at least a 10-12 show tour annually than have the band take entire years off at this point.  Easier to spread out the vacation time at work.  In 2024 there were a few cities I would have liked to hit I just couldn’t squeeze in with the number of options. 

    In addition to the physical grind of touring, Jeff said on a podcast they limit shows to keep Pearl Jam fresh.  People can critique all they want, “these guys stay in the nicest hotels, the travel in the easiest way possible” but this is their work and being away from home sucks.  

    Lastly, @mcgruff10 , I might be mis-remembering, but I thought I read in the Camden 2022 fanview you left during the encore to beat traffic?  That was one of the best shows post-Covid.  Apologies again if I have this wrong, but if people are leaving shows early, that negates any argument im interested in hearing about the bands’ modest touring schedule.

    Thanks for the call out!  Yeah I left early to beat traffic.  (Left after breath) School night, the two guys I went with were also teachers so we decided to leave early.  Not sure what that has to do with pearl Jam touring.  I ve left a lot of shows early for various reasons.  Life gets in the way sometimes, whether it be kids, work or sickness.
    Side note: 2011 tour was absolute fire.

    I was a big fan of the ‘23 tour. I felt like they did a good job of pulling out a lot of lesser played songs. My favorite was probably Chicago N2. That setlist was great.

    Josh Freese is just everywhere. Good for him man. Didn’t even know he was drumming for Weezer 
    Pat wanted to take a break from the kit to play guitar again. Josh filled in just for a few shows so far. He’s toured with them before so it’s an easy gig for him.

    I keep going right back to No Code when doing this, Yield is close but I genuinely feel DM is a better record overall than even Yield. I hold it in seriously high regard. 

    The worry about it being an initial reaction and an over excitement can be easily dismissed given we are approaching the 2 year anniversary of it. I do get a bit carried away with new PJ, and initially loved gigaton but I can appreciate that didnt age nearly as well as DM has.
