Klinghoffer as the new drummer would see a bit odd. Would they then replace his role? If not, why was he there to begin with? It would be like when a co-worker takes a leave of absence and no one replaces him, you wonder why that position is even a thing?
I think Dave A would be awesome just because he’s the summer on my favorite albums. But that will never happen.
Dave K seems very plausible given that he partially filled in when Matt got covid. If we’re taking bets, that’s who I’m going with, Matt Chamberlain second because of the connections he has with Stone still
Klinghoffer is not really a drummer. Check the Ft. Worth 1 boot. The spare tire does a fantastic job of getting you there, but the whole time you're anxious to get back to the real deal.. He should remain in his current role.
Good luck to the boys as they look to backfill a legend.
Artificial intelligence itself. The band could cut costs redistribute the wealth to the touring staff and lower ticket prices for fans. Instead of a human drummer they should employee the Soy Bomb guy to do his weird shit.
The departure of Matt means the end of Pearl Jam for me. I still may see them if they are close and I score 10C tickets. But I will not be working very hard to attend a concert without Matt. And I will not pay $250 a ticket to see a replacement.
Would you consider Jack Irons or Dave Krusen to be replacements, if hypothetically one of them are picked?

Not me, I loved Pearl Jam before Matt Cameron and will love them after. They could have a drum machine and i would still show.

I'm still on the Dave Krusen train, but Abe Laboriele is enough to make me 🤔

It will never happen, but my wish would be Larnell Lewis. The dude is crazy talented, and he could seriously learn the catalog in about a week. He once was contacted to do a live gig and learned an entire album on a 7.5-hour plane ride to the gig.
They will pull an audible if they continue. It will not be a former drummer IMHO. I am not optimistic. There are reasons they were kicked out in the first place. Ed is not done, but I think Pearl Jam as we know it is done. Someone else said "going through the motions." That describes the last show I saw. I will not be chasing PJ shows the way I once did. I do not want to see Ed wheeled out and singing from a chair. If they called it quits I would be perfectly happy with what they gave us and with what I have seen.

They were kicked out for reasons. No. They are not coming back. And if they do, it's to give them money. Not because they are the best fit for the band.

Did I miss Jack Irons being kicked out of the band?

I think the drummer from No Code (who was very much not kicked out) would be an incredible fit for the band. I don’t think he wants the gig though.

Well then why was he not the drummer for the past 27 years? C'mon. Cameron was a beast that will not be easily replaced. Be real.
