Do something different! Go with a fan.
Go with me.
I've been playing drums for 32 years. I know their catalog. I have enough PTO at work to be able to tour for the 1-2 months they do.0 -

I don't think I can listen to it in Europe so if any of you could record it and share it here it would be great!2024 Seattle WA #1 | 2024 Seattle WA #2 | 2025 Nashville TN #1 | 2025 Nashville TN #20 -
They just asked Dave if he would even be willing to come back.
He says he'd love to jam with those dudes again, anytime. "I would love to". Doesn't sound like he has been asked formally yet.2024 Seattle WA #1 | 2024 Seattle WA #2 | 2025 Nashville TN #1 | 2025 Nashville TN #20 -
Dave A has a nice post on FB. Basically saying he would be very interested but knows nothing will come of it.Remember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)

He talked about playing with them again at the R&R HOF induction and said it was fun. Said afterwards that the band was like, "we should jam together sometime, but that hasn't happened yet. but knowing what he knows about how they operate that he could get a random phone call that was like, "hey, be down here at 5"...but thats about it. No jucy details in this interview. They are playing Evenflow now.Post edited by TahoeJeff on2024 Seattle WA #1 | 2024 Seattle WA #2 | 2025 Nashville TN #1 | 2025 Nashville TN #20

The departure of Matt means the end of Pearl Jam for me. I still may see them if they are close and I score 10C tickets. But I will not be working very hard to attend a concert without Matt. And I will not pay $250 a ticket to see a replacement.0

Dave needs to stop. He was essentially calling Ed a phony about a week or two ago on fb, and now he acts like any animosity is on them.0

I say this with the clear declaration that Vs. is my favorite Pearl Jam record: Dave A. is a drama magnet.
Read that Facebook post between the lines. He still has a chip on his shoulder. He never really got over his dismissal. To invite him back would be inviting disruption.
It's been 30 YEARS. THIRTY. YEARS.
Meanwhile, Dave Krusen, Matt Chamberlain, and Jack Irons have all been living fulfilled artistic lives. They stay active, and enjoy the fruits of their labor. With respect for the past, and an eye towards the future.
I wish the same peace of mind for Dave A.Post edited by Go Animal onPJ - 09/23/98: West Palm Beach II, 08/12/00: Tampa, 04/12/03: Orlando, 04/13/03: Tampa, 06/12/08: Tampa, 06/27/08: Hartford, 09/22/09: Seattle II, 04/11/16: Tampa, 05/01 & 05/02/16: MSG I & II, 09/18/21: Sea Hear Now, 10/01 & 10/02/21: Ohana Encore I & II, 05/06 & 05/07/22: Los Angeles (Inglewood) I & II, 09/11/22: MSG, 09/16/22: Nashville, 09/02/23: St. Paul II, 09/07/23: Chicago II, 09/18 & 09/19/23: Austin I & II, 05/16 & 05/18/24: Las Vegas I & II, 08/29 & 08/31/24: Wrigley Field I & II, 09/03 & 09/04/24: MSG I & II, 09/27 & 09/29/24: Ohana Festival I & IIEV - 08/04 & 08/05/08: (Eddie solo, w/Liam Finn) NYC I & II, 11/27 & 11/28/12: (Eddie solo, w/Glen Hansard) Orlando I & II, 02/09 & 02/10/22: (Eddie & the Earthlings) Chicago I & II, 09/30/23: (Eddie & the Earthlings) Ohana Festival

Yes, Dave A is resentful. Good chance I’d be the same if I were in his shoes. He’s not asking to be hired back though. He’s asking people to stop bombarding him with pleas to approach the band.#Grievance20250

Dave Grohl playing drums with Nirvana and then Pearl Jam on a limited tour would be interesting.0
-
My order of preference:
- Josh Klinghoffer
- Jack Irons
- Dave Krusen
- Dave Abbruzzese (unlikely given the history and the personalities involved, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t also curious)
- Matt Chamberlain
- Janet Weiss
- Barrett Martin
- Brad Wilk
- Richard Stuverud
- Josh Freese
