But is continuing to look weak the answer? If you don't see Magary's viewpoint worthy, and don't believe in living in an Oligarchy and tyranny (I know you don't), then what should we be doing?"It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -

It's an over-the-top rant with good points baked inside. He probably tries a bit too hard to brandish his outrage. But he's right about the timing of Biden's exit, Harris campaigning with Republicans, and John Fetterman's move towards Manchin. I'm also with him on Newsome and to an extent on the muzzling of Walz. In any case, I think he's right that the Dems don't seem equal to the task of the moment and that they've allowed the nonsense driving the national move right to handcuff them into becoming High-Road MAGA.1995 Milwaukee 1998 Alpine, Alpine 2003 Albany, Boston, Boston, Boston 2004 Boston, Boston 2006 Hartford, St. Paul (Petty), St. Paul (Petty) 2011 Alpine, Alpine

I agree their stupid stunts like the collective kneel and the paddles needs to go. It's performative and stupid. I don't have the answers. But rants like that doesn't exactly provide them either. It's just a guy blowing off steam, trying to make himself seem smarter than them. Strong looks more like confronting and calling out bullshit, not sitting still with a blank stare while holding up a little paddle. Did you not find that utterly embarrassing? I sure did."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -

I don't have the answers, my friend. But these people are paid a shit load of money to do their job, one which they are supposedly well trained for. I don't expect our congress people to know how to identify a true first edition book like a good bookseller is capable of doing, or know how to use a circle of fifths to organize chromatic pitches and their corresponding keys the way a trained musician is capable of doing, but I do expect them to know how to respond to apolitical bullshit spewed out of the mouths of bully tyrants.

Its a California thing. In any case, it's not the salary or the cost of living that is the issue. The issue is the responsibility that goes with the job. If they don't want the responsibility, don't take the job. Personally, I've done various kinds of work ranging from menial labor, to managerial, to professional, and I have always believed that if you get paid to do a job, you do it well. Hell, I worked my best years ago when I volunteered 1,000 hours at our Community Health Library. I took my father seriously when he taught me, "Any job worth doing is worth doing well." Hack or pack.
