Holy shit.
So I was just taking a home equity application for a woman. Slam dunk deal. Streamline process. Get to the income section and see she works at the Dept of the Interior so I ask if she's still there (a question I literally ask everyone) and she nervously laughs and says "well I do....at least for now." I felt horrible as I was thinking maybe she thought I was joking or something. Then she goes on about how she's been there 25 years and is great at her job and is doing this loan because she's uncertain about things moving forward.
She then says she doesn't have time to talk because she just found out she's got to lay off some people......
Get off the phone with her and google Dept of Interior and see this story from like a half hour ago. She probably just found out about this as I was calling her. Fucking incredible.

Layoffs suck as it upends the lives of people and their families. I've been through it with a previous company and was definitely life altering. ☹️
It's a main cost cutting method for organizations.
Is it a story because Trump is in office while federal job cuts are occuring?

They're only getting started, wait until they start shutting down VA hospitals. We can't be wasting money on all those "suckers and losers".
