But funny seeing Trump being all frozen up. Easy blurting bullshit and fantasies on Twitter when no one calls you out.

I wonder if any of his business failures could have been prevented if he'd have allowed something other than yes-men telling him his farts smell good.

A CEOs job is to protect and grow the business. Trump could be a threat to that. Thats why these dudes are bending the knee

Do you consider the President to be in a CEO role?
Of his companies, definitely. But a president is not a CEO of the country if that’s what you are asking. The United States is not a business.

Could business lessons be applied to the operation of government?

Maybe but the whole "government should be run more like business" platitude is lazy. I've never heard someone say that and actually expand on what they mean; it's just a way to say "private good; public bad." And businesses tend to want to grow while government entities should not in most cases.

In my career, I've worked for a few public organizations and the one run most like a business is the one that would have upset small government conservatives the most.

well for one , government isnt in the profit making business. 2 , how do you quantify the roi on foreign aid , defense spending(which includes foreign spending on the bases and civilan work forces in a given country)

my point would be generally government is concerned with the citizenry while business is concerned with shareholders only....
taking it further, if the tax payer is seen as the shareholder do we then say fuck you to all the kids, seniors or otherwise unable to pay into via taxes folks here?

Things like how to be an effective manager. Maybe Trump and Musk should take a management 101 workshop.

The new mantra of "run gov't like a business" is a new version of trickle down. It's bullshit but it sounds nice to the lemmings that want to believe everything their dear leader tells them.

How many times has someone encountered a government agency and been flummoxed at the red tape and laziness? Not saying it applies to all employees. I am not saying that. Certainly not applying that thought to our Military. Maybe applying some modern business knowledge could help make things more efficient.

More like efficiency rather than profit. Less waste. Ever traveled to another modern country? Amazing how things move faster in many ways.

Which of Trump's businesses do we want him to run the country like?

    Trump Shuttle?
    Trump University?
    Trump Steaks?
    Trump Magazine?
    Trump Vodka?
    Trump Taj Mahal?
    Trump Plaza Casino?
    Trump Mortgage?
    Trump the Fragrance? (Eeeeew)
    Trump the Game?

I’m fine with that. But decision making like that isn’t limited to CEOs or business people. And if it had to be a CEO, Trump doesn’t have the business track record to prove that he could.

But to clarify this line started with me saying Steve Jobs probably would have bent the knee because Trump is a vindictive and petty lifetime bitch and would get government organizations involved to stymy anything Apple wanted to do.

The only thing that will trickle down from the DT tyranny will be grief and suffering.  People in this country need to wake the fuck up.

Number of federal employees has dropped, population has increased substantially over time, say since 1990s, and more programs are in place. Seems some efficiencies have already been gained. There’s no such thing as “perfect” and there will always be “waste.” What corporation runs with zero waste and 100% efficiency? None.

What we’re witnessing is the deliberate smashing of government functions to blame government for being broken so it can be a continuous feedback loop to justify getting rid of it. It’s easier to do than “fixing it” and it’s what you do if you want to be an authoritarian government.

After American AP journalists were banned from the Macron-Trump press conference, French reporters stepped in to ensure a Paris-based AP reporter could ask their first question.

A federal judge has blocked the Trump Justice Department from transferring 12 transgender female inmates to male prisons — a setback for Trump's executive orders denying recognition of transgender people.

Google Maps: “The Gulf of Mexico is now the Gulf of America.”

    Random Google Maps users: “Mar-a-
    Lago is now Kremlin Headquarters.”

Check out the Google reviews of “Kremlin Headquarters,” which per Google Maps can be found at 1100 S Ocean Bivd, Palm Beach, FL 33480.

Nicely played, people of the internet.

    ...Anything to add? 😈💀😆

Q: You called Zelenskyy a dictator. Would you use the same word regarding Putin?

Trump: Uhhhh… I don’t use those words lightly. We’re gonna see how it all works out

OSC (Office of Special Counsel) has gotten right back to work and declared the terminations that have occurred illegal & that terminated employees should be reinstated with backpay. you can read more about it below. not paywalled so have fun! https://www.govexec.com/workforce/2025/02/oversight-agency-finds-trumps-federal-worker-firings-unlawful-asks-some-employees-be-reinstated/403218/

NEW: A “survey of our niche audience for our niche audience” was the source for the claim that only 6% of federal employees are working full time in their offices. The number isn’t true. Why do administration and elected officials keep relying on it? https://www.propublica.org/article/federal-employees-work-from-home-trump-myth?utm_campaign=propublica-sprout&utm_content=1740415509&utm_medium=social&utm_source=threads

Yeah. There are dips, but historically the merket always bounces back and grows.

.... Until it doesn't. Nothing lasts forever. The great flaw of capitalism is that constant growth forever is literally impossible.

Trump's broad foreign aid freeze has halted a UN program in Mexico to block fentanyl chemical imports to drug cartels, say eight sources. It's one of several U.S. counternarcotics efforts in Mexico recently disrupted by the stop-work order. https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/trump-aid-freeze-disrupts-anti-narcotics-program-mexican-ports-2025-02-24/

Well said.   No doubt the Sumerians thought they would be around for ever as well.  It's the same story throughout civilization.   If humans haven't figured that out by now, I have a hard time picturing any true "age of enlightenment" ever happening.  A nice pipe dream, I suppose.
