The idea that the left has moved further left is absurd.  Based on the posting of a handful of people on a rock band's fan site?  Based on the fact that they support the rights of trans people (the only relatively newer issue today)?   Based on the fact that they are outraged that instead of a Democracy, we live in an oligarchy ruled by tyranny?
    WTF?
people who complain about the left moving to extremes is, in reality, that person moving farther right. and that's not a slight, it's a well known fact that naturally, as we age, people become more conservative.

You openly support a country whose culture and leadership treats women and gays like crap, force non conformists to live in segregated areas and murder those trying to peacefully protest. Yet support violent protests in my country and attack an actual American who was outraged to see violence on manhattan streets with classes and once in a lifetime graduation cancelled and children spit on.
Do I openly support Iraq and their "culture", when being against your war criminal country buddy W Bush starting a war against the country and murdering thousands of civilians?

please identify all the maga posters and what happened to them.

Honestly, they got banned for being toxic, misogynistic, racist, or just plain aggressively trolly. They were voices posting not in good faith, and with purposeful intention to just irritate. then when the loud obnoxious ones went, the rest didn't have the balls to step up, proving that their posting was not in good faith. can't even stand up and argue for what they believe.

One young guy that got banned made mistakes posting and was brutal, there was another, teske, was a good poster. I’ve reread their last 20 or so posts, the best guess is teske got banned for making a joke about liberals and pony tails. Their trend often was discussing with each other the success of Rs and then get brigaded with attacks like how can you vote for a rapist and a crim. From the left that appears normal. From the center, not so much. But…they are all…gone… I get mocks and ridicule like that regularly.

there seems to be a trend of which views lead to repercussions. I see a type of brigading on this forum, and I don’t think that’s debatable. But I will always strive to post better, and limit mistakes.

regarding those claiming above that the left has not moved so far left. On the two main issues I ramble about a lot on here, I absolutely do not recall democrats being like this over ten years ago on any topic like these. Perhaps it coincides with “factions” like the squad taking shape in the House, a group of reps often one sided and dishonest with the public. IMO.

I’ve done a lot of reading and watching of non dem sources since the election, which is difficult. Because on that side of politics it’s 90% dishonest. But on these two topics, when it pertains to middle America, their POV is overwhelmingly on point.
FWIW, I didn’t claim one way or another, I just asked how you know the party has shifted to the left.

Asking why someone voted for a rapist and a criminal is a legit question. It’s going to be in the first paragraph in high school history books in 30 years.

In all fairness, how much warning? Just seems unclear. I’ve seen someone get banned here multiple times just in the 5 years I’ve started reading AMT and it’s always temporary. I don’t really care it just seems vague.

For someone in the center it's normal to vote for a serious criminal and rapist, is what I take from it.

have you taken into consideration the rise in so-called social media,  the amplification of a few very loud voices(typically from the fringes) , some real, others bots , with posts that aim to inflame emotion? they come to be self-feeding dont they? legacy media began being lazy and "reporting" based of these kinds of social media offerings as well as plain greedy in amplifying fuckstick and. his ilk.

seems to me that maybe the right isnt that far right as the left isnt that far left when  viewed off those platform and when asked about specific policy questions, generally are in agreement despite how they vote. Add in rhe who's policy question, then you get the partisan divide more prevalent.

from personal experience...I got a message that what I posted wasn't allowed and that if I did it again I would be on vacation.

You notice that they tend to post reminders about expected conduct. They aren't kidding.

I have gotten warnings like Gern. Hard to agree with them all the times, with them on occasion being very absurd and seem to come more from a personal POV than any understandable moderation POV. Most of the times (87-89%) they tend to be very straight shootery though.

I will never understand why my thread about Pearl Jam coming out to Oasis stage-song Fuckin in the bushes in Manchester was labeled as "trolling" though. With Oasis coming out to the song is like...  one of the most iconic things in rock. And Pearl Jam should do it, if they can come out to the Rocky theme in Philadelphia. So, some weird shit happens that is never corrected.

But the two times or whatever I've been in "jail" (not being able to post) I don't remember it coming with any warning beforehand?

Don't remember ever being straight up banned though. Maybe that comes with a stern talking first. I am not of the perception a ban comes willy-nilly around here, but rather you get both one and five chances. Maybe a consequence of people actually having paid to use the board. So it's a tougher decision to actually ban. Maybe it needs to go through @Rubysdad and then he has to actually log into the Teams chat and that's a hassle for everyone involved. "No more funny GIFs people, the boss is logging in"

How can this be considered trolling. Peak rock and roll. The Americans might not get Oasis, but that should not influence moderation

    Summary:

“Most of it is bullshit, but the parts I agree with are true “

More low effort posts in disagreement.  There is a reason your comments display an expertise in as you say, bullshit. I was honestly asking if anyone knew.

I did the research and looked, you didn’t. Now I need to post with proof because of all the low effort attacks from the left

Just keep attacking  based on primal fear. With cursing, again. Unless the forum is operating improperly, I do not see any of the usual moderated modifications. These are the most recent comments, I’ve read them all, because, as I stated with honesty, I couldn’t figure out the offensive comment.

Thank you. To me there is brigading on the forum that leads to some on the right to either leave or get banned. From doing far less than what I’ve been getting on an almost daily basis lately. For my crimes of believing we should keep the protests in manhattan peaceful, not support a terrorist nation outright but offering them a path to peace, and old white guys shouldn’t get fired in disproportionate numbers, especially when the result in a reorganization results in a significantly changed demographic percentage. For that I get buried here with curses and mocks.

those on the left are allowed to mock, dispute facts without any evidence and personally attack. If the owners on the forum want to create something more than what this place has become, they need to examine its approach. Almost All voices on the right and middle have been silenced. You barely post here any more.
