    I know "conservative" tends to be a swear word on this forum, but I sometimes wonder if in this nation, the progressive/ liberal hatred for all things conservative may have influenced the rise of tyranny in this country.  I think it's wise to consider that there are conservatives who are allies in fight against that tyranny.

    Good indeed, I’m hoping my son who works for VA here in Suffolk county as an anesthesia technician for the Main OR will not lose his job he did respond to the email outlining his function in the operating room!     Well, bad on me for generalizing, but I'm not sure how else to put it.  I do think, generally speaking, liberals here tend to have tendency to be opposed to almost everything deemed "conservative".  And I should have noted that I was only referring to people who identify as liberal.  I do know there are people here who identify as "conservative".

    On a personal note, I am probably what you would call "a liberal".  But I'm not liberal on everything, and besides, I don't care for labels.  I think of myself as one who believes in doing and supporting that which makes the most sense, and in standing by what is best for all of life, including people and the planet. Especially for the health of the planet, because if the planet is not healthy, people are not healthy.  If the planet becomes overly unhealthy, there will be few, if any people.

    My sister and I were talking about that today.  I suggested more people out on the streets protesting is what we need.  She said she didn't think that makes any difference anymore.  I started scanning the streets for the tallest building.  Well, four floors up is as tall as we've got in this small town, so I guess it's "hit the streets" or fuggedaboudit for me.  :lol:

    Trump has yet to approve an emergency disaster declaration for West Virginia.

    The declaration would help facilitate federal relief efforts after devastating floods last week.

    Trump laid of hundreds of staff at FEMA and has suggested states should fix their own disasters.
