you may disagree but I put this squarely here...

Humanity is on life support. 😢

Rebecca Marodi, a California based fire captain, was targeted by right-wing extremists who touted her a ‘DEI hire’ and blamed her for the LA fires. She has been found stabbed to death in her home.

    https://www.cbsnews.com/losangeles/news/cal-fire-captain-stabbed-to-death-san-diego-county-home/

This is some seriously scary shit.  There has to be a way to hold people accountable for inciting violence via social media and the internet.  Everyone has the freedom to say what they want...but if it incites violence, you should be held accountable.

Too many crazy idiots....and not just in the current administration.
I've been saying for a few years that this might be our downfall. In order to stop it we have to curb free speech. And look what happens...fucking billionaires buy the means to communicate and allow it (fake/false info) to happen.

    We're fucked
Oh kind of like when people spoke out against the vax mandates and where the virus came from and had the courage to ask where are the long term studies on mRNA and were kicked off social media platforms? How soon you forget the what the lockdown Left did to this country and world. Wake up people.
I seem to recall the only time there were any lockdowns was spring of 2020. So, you should be talking about Lockdown Don.
    Pesky details.

I don’t mind. I haven’t touched any dividends in 6 months. I’ve been holding cash waiting for a correction. Looking forward to scooping some cheap shares of my favorite positions.

That’s fine with me. As long as no one sells, no one will lose. It’s all speculative until then.

no one will lose? Ridiculous. You are assuming everything that drops will come back...that is unlikely

Yea. I’m assuming it will come back. It always does. How is that unlikely? Actually….. I don’t care. I don’t need your stock market advice. I don’t mind the drops, just another buying opportunity.

    Exactly.
You know, I don’t mind having discussions or disagreements about the stock market. But the red hat comment came out of nowhere and was ridiculous and unnecessary. Maybe certain people here are chomping at the bit since the usual 3 trolls are permanently banned here.

I was focusing on the "no one will lose" comment...there are always losers. People that sell low and buy high. Not everyone knows what the fuck they are doing that's why Schwab and Fidelity are in business.

the red hat comment isn’t justified. At all actually. It’s ridiculous

And you’re incorrectly quoting what I said. You’re conveniently leaving out the first part of that sentence.

And you literally just said it’s UNLIKELY to go back up. Which imo, makes no sense based on history.

I'll concede that you did say "as long as you don't sell"....true... my response was due to seeing tons of people panic and sell when it's low and then wait until it goes back up to buy.

And yes...I understand the stock market and its historical returns. I've got my series 7 after all. I was dissecting your comment that everything that goes down will comes back up which is definitely not true when you look at individual stocks. If you are referring to the market in general sure it will go back up...always does. But tons of people still lose.

And I'm sorry about the red hat comment. You probably don't need another one. :)
