See guys, Trump is a genius! If your definition of genius is that you create chaos and then claim to be a genius by "fixing" it, then yes.

Also I really hope when they get on the phone, the first words out of these other countries leaders is "Fuck you Donald". Lay in to the asshole who is blatantly going against the trade agreement the US has with its allies. I mean, China, whatever, but Canada and Mexico, yeah, eat shit Don.

suppose you were a foreign power and decided to play the long game to bring down one of your enemies little by little. how would you go about it?

would you...

Find a celebrity with enough charisma that the lowest common denominator of people would follow him regardless of his personal faults and criminal activities, a man whose family and business money was tied up in your banks because his own countries banks would no longer lend to him

then do a targeted propaganda campaign against his political opponents to destroy their credibility to help him get elected (2x).

have the leader destroy the citizens faith in a free press and the integrity of elections with his repeated rhetoric and lies

have that person install sympathetic judges that will give him power that no leader in said country has had before, and rule in his favor on his political agenda and criminal cases.

have that person fire competent and intelligent government workers and install loyalists who have little to no experience and lack the qualifications for their jobs

play citizens of different races and ethnicities in the country against each other sowing division amongst the people

have the leader try to alienate and destroy alliances with their allies making the allies less safe

have the leader start trade wars with their closest allies with the possibility of severely hurting the economy and financial stability of its citizens

is that how a foreign power would do it? Now tell me that all those things above haven't happened and tell me who that sounds like. hint, it's not obama, biden or harris.

And the personal stress he puts on these federal employees at USAID and the FBI is just ridiculous. Career federal employees deserve better than this piece of shit. It's all smoke and mirrors and he's playing with their financial well being.

Like it or not, politics is a dirty business in the US. To think otherwise is to be naive. Trump made a promise to levy tariffs if our neighboring countries do not allocate more resources to border security. He kept his promise in less than a month. The efficacy remains to been seen and it is likely his executive orders would not withstand judicial scrutiny, but he made a promise and kept it. I cannot say that about many politicians in the US.

Exactly. Unfortunately it's seems there are a lot of people that think Trump's approach is effective just because it makes lots of noise.

As I said, the efficacy remains to be seen. And it is not the recorded encounters that are the issue. It is the unrecorded ones that are the issue. It seems 10,000 additional troops will be deployed by Mexico to strengthen border security. It remains to be seen if that will actually happen, but that is more than just noise if it does. The hard question is how do we know if it ever does?
