It's disheartening seeing GA tix on stubhub.  Hypothetically speaking, can Ten Club place an order to buy the GA tix and remove the seller from the Ten Club?  I would love to see that.

How can they tell that the seller on stubhub is a 10c member? Maybe the situation is that a 10club member did coordinate a drop and it was purchased by a bot/scalper.

All for a change in the process though

Good point- I guess it would only work if Ten Club did this the day on or after the initial release of tickets.

Yea another person pointed that out.  Would have to be immediate I guess.  I know it's never happening, just a hypothetical.

I doubt anything is going to change, this new TM method just made 10c more valuable. They could do more and vett the membership. Weed out all the scalpers with fake memberships.

There wouldn't be any identifying information on the seller even on day 1

Does the buyer even know the seller outside of a screen name? Since it's not using Ticketmaster to transfer the tickets you don't get an email address or the buyers name. Plus anyone selling might have have separate email addressed from 10C and Stub Hub.

10C would have to spend $$ to buy the tickets on Stubhub

True but then they should get a refund based on stubhub's guarantee because the tickets would be invalidated and wouldn't work, while the scalper would have to pay a penalty to stubhub for selling invalid tickets. All purely hypothetical because we know they won't do it but it's theoretically possible.

TM would know if they were ever resold in their universe. If they never hit F2F but end up on the secondary market, then the 10C purchaser is the reseller.

True but if all you get is a link to a generic "ticket" that says general admission, how would they know which member was selling it? If it was a specific seat or had the stock number of the GA ticket they could figure out the source. I guess they could run the barcode data through TM and identify the specific GA ticket

There aren't any GA in the general public sale but probably some for friends / family

would be easy to separate those based on GA ( GA1-GAx segragation code) but would that be evident to TM.. Also many of the friends and family tickets are hard tickets..

10C, the Stubhub buyer, would have caused their own purchased tickets to become invalid...good luck with that with Stubhub

Stubhub sold the tickets knowing that resale tickets were subject to cancelation. They also wouldn't necessarily know that the buyer is affiliated with 10c if it's done through an individual account or a bunch of individual accounts.

But even if they did a small percentage - and made it widely public they were doing it. One would people risk buying them, and two would SH risk selling them. Even 10 percent of tickets invalidated would be enough to cause a huge disruption in their business and confidence in the SH platform. All TM needs to do is add a secondary barcode that is only in the app, that pairs with the moving barcode IE.. Half is in the app the other is dynamic. Prevent forwarded barcodes, which are the large majority of how people get access. Visual Machine ticket wallet, not the TM app.... TM tried to force Apple Wallet and Android but that failed, but would have done the same.
