So they can’t be prosecuted, why else? This is completely rational considering the nominee for FBI director. I support it 100%. And I don’t support Hunter.Choccoloccotide said:Now Joe Biden is considering pardoning Dr. Fauci, Schiff and Cheney according to Politico. Why would he need to pardon them? Thoughts?
https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2024/12/04/biden-white-house-pardons-00192610Can you tell me the crime Liz Cheney committed?Jeez, will you at least acknowledge the specific and violent threats lodged by trump during the fall? That I posted on this forum four times?
this is the only way your side gets votes, by ignoring and mansplaining reality. Even the right leaning dems do it here regarding Hunters pardon given the new “enemy within” brand of the gop. That’s all completely new threats against democrats.0 -
They will probably cut $200K and say that it will be for 100,000 years so $2T savedLerxst1992 said:shecky said:

https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2024/12/04/biden-white-house-pardons-00192610The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) reached an agreement with the Social Security Administration (SSA) to protect telework, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing messages viewed by the outlet.
The updated contract, which affects 42,000 government employees, will allow workers to stay hybrid until 2029.
The deal was signed by President Biden's former SSA Commissioner, Martin O’Malley."
Expect much more of this bullshit before Joey is finally walked (or wheeled) out the door in January.
But I'm confident that Trump's attornys are smarter than Biden's, and they'll be able to undo or remedy alot of this crap.
Do you even know your side is lying about cutting the budget by $2T? Defense, Medicare, and interest account for nearly 80% of the budget. Which one of those are you cutting? Elon and Vivek would need to cut almost everything else to reach their target cuts
One program they said they want to eliminate is the NIH, which is responsible for a lot of the tremendous advances the US government attained for cancer treatment.
In reality, your team is celebrating more cancer, that’s what they were cheering for at the msg rally, @shecky
so stay hidden in your safe and comfy spaces so you can keep up with the absurd and disingenuous attacks, unless you want cancer?

Right. I have been working from home since 2006. As long as I show up for any scheduled Zoom meetings, I can do my work any time of the day. The whole 8 hours thing is so random. As long as I finish the work I am paid to do it doesn’t matter how many hours I work. Sometimes I have to work 12 hours in a day or put in a few hours on the weekend during really busy times or if a deadline is approaching. Other days (like yesterday) I finished everything I needed to in about 3 hours. My boss knows the hours all even out in some way. When I used to work in an office there were also days when I finished what I needed to do in fewer than 8 hours but I was still stuck there trying to look busy (mostly by playing around on my computer). At this point I don’t ever think I could work in an office again. I am so used to dictating my own schedule.cincybearcat said:

We already own the buildings, they are ilumminated, heated and/or air conditioned whether 10 people or 10,000 are present. And, the only way you can truly ensure that employees are putting in a full eight hour day is for them to show up at work. Just clocking in and out electronically from home is rife with dishonesty and fraud. And no, I do not have the studies at hand.tbergs said:

I thought you were all for efficiency and cutting waste? And your statement about needing them to show up to be sure they are working tells me you shouldn’t be a boss ever.0 -

Zero chance they will cut SS and defense and you're right, that's where the fat is. Everything else discretionary is immaterial to the current financial path. That's why this is such a joke. They will recommend cutting DOE by a billion and act like it's some sort of victory. And the fools will lap it up, because a billion is a number that can't even comprehend, but it's nothing against the budget.Lerxst1992 said:shecky said:

Based on the number of neighbors I saw "working" from home during the pandemic, I wouldn't be surprised if companies find it far more productive to have employees in the office.
But just depends on the type of job I guess. An insurance adjustor who takes calls and goes through bills from around the country and has to go through X number of files a day, probably doesn't make a difference. Someone who doesn't have a defined amount of work that needs to get done but is just expected to work a full day, might work better in an office. Especially if it requires you to collaborate or check in with other departments.Post edited by mace1229 on0 -
Production, call center, or those with a queue of work each day are certainly the easiest to manage. But they are also the type of roles with the highest attrition, so there is a counter-balance there.mace1229 said:Based on the number of neighbors I saw "working" from home during the pandemic, I wouldn't be surprised if companies find it far more productive to have employees in the office.

During the pandemic, most companies were not prepared and did not have activity monitoring software in place to manage the under-performers. That's changed at this point. One of my offices is in a high traffic area of Florida, and (particularly during season) most people have to commute between 45 to 90 minutes to get to the office. Working in a hybrid environment has reduced expected attrition and we are loathe to take the benefit away at this point.
When I was a young manager, one senior leader once told me something that I think is absolutely true. You don't create rules for the 5% of your problems. You create rules for the 95% and manage the 5% up or out. In other words, if you think some part of your workforce abuses the WFH, manage them, don't punish the people following the policy and doing the right thing by pulling everyone back.0 -
my company downsized workspace after the pandemic. But being a quasi-crown corp (technically non-profit but it's mega profit for the government) we are being pressured by our provincial governments, who make up our BOD, to return to work more as our downtown is dying as a result of WFH.mickeyrat said:HughFreakingDillon said:

Now you're wading in to conspiracy theory territory. I'm not buying it. He didn't just make a snap judgement overnight. He found a sufficient reason to justify going back on what he said. Good lord. I'm also not dem right, I'm as liberal as they get, but I'm not an apologist for a politician stoking some fear in order to fleece people about his son's 11 year pardon. Just own the pardon. He's my son and I don't want him to face future penalties for being a fucked up drug addict for years.Lerxst1992 said:brianlux said:mrussel1 said:
