    Yeah, I don't get it. I live in a rural area in Southern Illinois and I can verify that MANY families here receive WIC, SNAP and other government food assistance. Over half of the students in our county are eligible for free or reduced lunches. In a county of 15K residents, nearly 5K of them are enrolled in Medicaid. Trump got 76% of the vote in the county. When the cuts happen, people here will realize that they have shot themselves in the foot, just to save a little money on the price of eggs. 
    Except they won’t come to that realization. No one should expect any realizations that they made a mistake because they’ll just blame the democrats. 
    This is probably true. Their information sources are probably preparing for how to deliver that message as we speak.

    The best hope for people in these situations is that Trump doesn't actually do some of the bordering on draconian things that we're talking about. Much of this didn't happen last time...but he's surrounded himself with even less serious people that have even less sense of how to govern than last time (which is an amazing feat in and of itself). But that's where we are; we need a bunch of people with an elite combination of heartlessness and stupidity to come to their senses and look out for the people that voted for them (and those that did not).
    The only one we know so far is Susan Wiles and she’s a serious person. I was surprised and got a glimmer of hope. I’m sure he’ll crush it soon though. 
    We know Elon is going to be involved. That in itself puts 47 in a less serious and more ruthless spot than 45.
    I think Truth is a really important investment for Trump. At one point does the fact that they have competing businesses become a problem? 
    Right. I’ve thought about this. Does this become the Putin and the oligarchs situation. When Putin came to power he gathered up the oligarchs and made them a deal. Turn over half of what you have now and will have to me, and you can do as you please. Don’t, and you’ll be dead and everything you have will be mine. It only took one non-taker for them to fall in line.
    Are you referring to Khodorkovsky? Unfortunately, I'd wager about 0% of Trump voters know anything about how Putin came to power.
    I believe he’s still alive, but no longer in Russia. A few of the oligarchs have been granted dirt naps though.

    He is such a fucking tool. This fuckhead tried to run for Victoria Spartz's seat a few years ago and got leveled in the primary. He then ran for the Fishers Library Board and caught all kinds of hell for trying to remove books. Then he runs for LtGov and wins by getting the evangelicals to all come out for him. You can imagine that getting people fired up to vote in the primaries would be kind of hard given that republicans generally always win. He got lucky and squeaked by.
