So 2-3% of people that voted for Biden now vote for Trump and it is racist and misogynistic that Kamala lost? I could see if 30% of the people that voted for Biden switched to Kamala.
Trump won because people thought he would do better with the economy, would better control illegal immigration, and would slow the advance of ultra woke policies. Those are your reasons that Trump won. Sure, Trump may be terrible at those things, but people vote on their perceptions of reality. So Dems need to stop saying they lose because of racism and misogyny, and work harder to convince voters that they are better in these areas.0 -
It seems like throwing a tantrum worked just fine for Trump so maybe we throw all logic out the window and see what happens.pjl44 said:Before last night, Democrats had won 3 of the previous 4 Presidential elections. This country is more than willing to embrace Democrats to lead. Their best path forward is to take an honest appraisal of what happened vs. throwing a tantrum over the electorate.0 -
That's my fear...I think in order to communicate to voters we now just have to lie and campaign via tiktok posts.Spiritual_Chaos said:
If Joe and Kamala really outperformed the rest of the western world, and also what would have been with Trump at the reigns. Then maybe they should have been better at communicating this? Get people to think "We are lucky to have it this good, and they fight this global problem as good as possible" instead of "This is hell, let have someone else have a go. And fuck immigrants"Gern Blansten said:
I think the inflation bullshit got to them. Once again the ignorance of not understanding why we were dealing with it (it is global...just like gas prices) and accepting that Biden/Harris should be blamed may have tipped it to trump.Spiritual_Chaos said:
Whatever.
I mean, you had daft PJ fans in here be all "Kamala created inflation" and in the swedish news coverage a bunch of people said they voted for Trump because of thee economy and basically "because he says he will fix it".Remember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)

As I replied to one of your sexism posts yesterday, Hillary Clinton all but won in 2016, so it's not like people won't vote for a woman. Harris was unpopular as a candidate in 2020 (damn sexist democrats), unpopular as VP (very low approval rating), and she didn't earn this nomination. That's a terrible candidate whether it's a male or female.tbergs said:
If you don't think sexism played a factor, i don't know that there's anything i can say to change your mind. Just go out there and read about the numerous women and men who don't think a woman should be president. That's an x factor she was born with and can't change, but yet the White male con man can do whatever he wants.Ledbetterman10 said:
So why didn't she get a single delegate in the 2020 primary? Was the democratic electorate racist or sexist? Or did they know that she a terrible candidate even then?tbergs said:

They tried to make Kamala happen (and did as good a job they could with it). But I think all the "Joy" and stuff felt shallow to people because all she was, was "not Trump". Most people who in the end voted D did it because they didn't want Trump more than being swayed by Kamala. She doesn't have that Obama, Bill or Trump charisma. Or even Tim Waltz or Joe Biden (when he was snappier) charisma. Or AOC.Ledbetterman10 said:

It's like when they try to make a Hollywood-actor like Henry Cavill happen. And they keep trying to will that actor into a leading star. No, you won't make this movie a success because no matter how you try to sell him Henry Cavill is not a draw.

We’ll see, not sure how putting tariffs on all imports is going to decrease prices and starting trade wars that will reduce the demand for US exports.mcgruff10 said:I remember a professor I had said people will always vote their wallets and I think this is exactly what happened here.
