Not sure if it has been mentioned, but that shout out to Andrew Greenhall is member here Bathgate66!  It shows he hasn't been active since Dec. 2023, I know he had a kidney replacement years ago and don't know how he is doing currently as he isn't too active on SM.  But it was nice of Ed to mention him!
He was in my section a few rows down. He seemed really touched by the shoutout.

Get rid of Patriot (sorry Sil) and Just Breathe, drop Crazy Mary in front of Leash and you’ve got an amazing encore that still has 5 covers. Replace Patriot and Good Hope with any two PJ original stool songs (All or None? Parting Ways? You can pick any ones you want) and the crowd would still have been taken out of it. The problem wasn’t the covers per se.

They do need to give it a rest with RITFW though.

    Great point. Shout out Andrew
That was very cool. I went to one of the 2008 shows with and interacted with on the massive New York Rangers thread on here that still exists somewhere.
Hope you had a great show man! Let’s Go Rangers
I did, Section 201 row three is cool because it's only four seats and you can lean on something for most of the show while you're standing up.

I wasn't there, and don't necessarily disagree with your premise, but on paper 5 / 27 songs being covers is ridiculous for a band with this big a discography.

I want to hear Pearl Jam play Pearl Jam songs.

Oh so GREAT to hear he was at the show, met him YEARS ago in Philly at a Tower Theater show.  Was hoping he was doing ok since he hasn't been around here lately.  If anyone is in touch with him, tell him Pure says HI!!!!

I agree...I try not to complain too much but it does seem odd to me to play so many covers. Especially with shorter sets

  • 100% agree with the sentiment of the main set being great, beginning of encores was a drag, but from Setting Sun on was fire again  ( Setting Sun needs to go back to being a closer)

On some other notes.....a big boo to the two people next to me who literally sat the entire show, didn't even get up when the band took the stage.  I get it, not everyone are maniacs like us who stand the entire show, but come on

Another big boo to Howard Stern, who we lost Red Mosquito for for Glorified G  (big downgrade in my book)

On a positive note, saw Henrik Lundqvist, and as a big Rangers fan, that was pretty awesome.  He was having a great time.

How about that giant guy in the pit… Robert!  That was a pretty funny sequence with Ed.  I later saw Ed take his phone and do some video recording with it.

As for the political stuff, it was somewhat reminiscent of Long Island back in 2003 when Ed sparred with the George W Bush faithful during Bush Leaguer. Those same people that now despise George W., have grown up to be full blown Maga cultists. On the floor, last night,  I only heard a smattering of disdain from the cultists, but Ed pushed through.  Proud of my guy,  and my band.
How political did it get?  When I was young, naive and idealistic, I enjoyed having the band speak up.  Speaking out against G.W. Bush, war, doing the Vote For Change tour, supporting a wounded veteran (Tomas Young), supporting Nader because the 2-party system felt broken.  Nowadays, 20 years down the road, I really don't want to hear it.  I thought the "Ridin' With Biden" t-shirt during the last campaign season was the lamest shit this band has ever done.

I've leaned left my entire life, but I have no idea where all this Kamala excitement came from other than she's not Trump.  I've really been soured by the crooked DNC over the past decade... railroading Bernie twice, forcing their handpicked candidates through, even if they happen to have dementia.  This band does a ton of great things, but I don't blame people that don't want to hear pro-Democratic party shit.

The two people next to you might not have been able to stand. I went to my first concert of the year last week after a few surgeries and couldn’t stand. You don’t know what ppl are going through. I’ll be sitting on Monday in Philly, enjoying myself. Not sure why anyone would care if I sat down

exactly...or if you stood like a statue, or if you didn't dance, etc.

    People complain about everything.

I was at a Jason Isbell show a month ago and the lady behind us asked my wife and I to sit down so that they could see. I gestured to the people in front of us that were standing like "listen moron, if I sit down you still won't be able to see" and she asked if we would tell them to sit down. Unfucking real. She then threw a fit until they left at the encore and kept putting her feet up on the back of my wife's seat like "you aren't using it so I will" type of cuntiness.

My section was filled with a bunch of up and coming Quentin Tarantinos. I mean there’s taking a quick video, and then there was my section with the zooms the lighting the filters. Holy shit. Concerts will never be the same honestly. I thought Covid would’ve made crowds more appreciative of live music and in the moment. Boy was I wrong. Maybe I’m just getting old but a lot of human behavior bothers me. I saw I a guy filming WITH HIS FLASHLIGHT ON. Rude

I take maybe like 20 or 30 pictures but do it really quickly and since I'm tall I can get the pic without lifting the phone over my head. I gave up on taking videos years ago, maybe after my initial fascination with getting a digital camera in the mid 2000s
