I think it has been severely tested by charging €180 during a severe cost of living crisis in Europe.
So why do you pay them to belong to their fan club?
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

I paid for the fan club before the Euro tickets went on sale. I buy things off the site that you have to be a member of to buy- bit of a con, I know but oh well- gotta keep these rich “rockers” rich! Are there other bands that charge you a ‘fan club’ fee to buy merch off them? Yeah, actually, now that you mention it, I will probably drop out of the fan club.

A lot of people in the fan club are wondering why they are still in it when they get worse seats than people who are not in it- what’s with that!

“Keep on rockin in the free world” but charge €180 for that privilege- come on!

No no no, they can't play Jazzfest or any other festival for that matter. Think about all the people that would have to fly there from around the world to see them. Think of all the carbon emissions. Think of our Earth!!!!

God, what a dumb argument  :D

So is it your position that the band should give you merchandise for free because they're rich? Do you think the band has any responsibility to the dozens of people working for the organization who are not necessarily rich but who rely on the band for their livelihoods? (These people include Boom and Josh in addition to the crew, the management and the warehouse and Ten Club staff.) Should the band work for free and pay their employees out of their personal fortunes? Are you aware that many of the band's employees have profit-sharing arrangements, which is not something offered by most employers, but also not particularly remunerative unless there are profits to be distributed?

If 180 euros is not a fair price, what is a fair price? What do you think Pearl Jam's profit margin is for these shows? How much of a margin would you consider fair? (The "free" in "free world" isn't referring to the price of goods, incidentally.)

Now listen, seriously, I never said the band should give me merchandise for free!!!!
what I meant was, I can buy the full range of merchandise off other bands sites without joining their fan club but if I want to buy a tour poster off Pearl Jam, I have to be a member of their club.

I’m going to skip over your middle section about the poor staff that work for the band!! Are you for real??

By the way - €100 is fair for gold circle, €80 for regular- about what they are going for on Ticketmaster resale now.

As it should be. For the most part, the posters are the most sought after pieces of merch.  Members should get exclusive access to them when they drop.

Ok buddy, keep smoking that….You must not be a fan of any other big rock band like Tool, Metallica and many others that charge a membership fee that gives fans access to member only merchandise.

I wasn’t suggesting it was any skin off your hide.
What a strange thing to say! Europe might bother with them if the ticket price was reasonable but for €180, you have a situation like this! .
We get it, you’re unhappy at the price. How many times do you need to post it?
not defending the price, just saying you’ve made your point

Imagine if they did a Sphere show/run for members only, with accommodations and whatnot. That would be epic.

    Oct 22, 2025. 35th anniversary show.

Yes, I am for real. I think that the people who work for the band deserve to be paid, and paid well. Do you disagree?

Ok.  So, we can agree that Europe is out for 2025.
South America and Sphere set of shows would be the most likely?
Maybe some Wrigley, Fenway and T-Mobile.
    Maybe some festivals?
Does the Southeast finally get some love?

I never got why folks think PJ can’t play the Sphere as if they can’t get a visual representation of their songs done in that setting! The Sphere is the best venue for music I can’t think of another venue I’d pay to see them play!

Yeah I would probably be in too for the Sphere. Though I would totally be down for a New England Pearl Jam Road Trip in 2025.

How about the Croix-Bieue in Moncton where Mickey Mouse and the rest of GnR played? Be a sweet show, the Maritimes are LONG overdue

Was at that show and it was ok for concerts. I would rather magnetic hill to be honest though that can be a shit show too.

Avenir Centre would be the dream show but will never happen.

It truly is time for a coast to coast Canadian jaunt. Born and raised in BC, never been East of Winnipeg. But i am dying to spend some time in the East, and this would be a dream
