Both albums released today. Two artist juggernauts.
Which album do you think is the best?

i love PJ but realistically Taylor is the right answer.

the girl is a juggernaut now and rightfully so (i dont like her but playing 3:30 hours shows where she actually sings and plays) you gotta give her credit for it

Swift will outsell Pearl Jam 20:1 or so.
I hope DM will sell more than 100,000 units first week (definitely doable).
But of course, Dark Matter will slaughter the Taylor record in terms of quality.
And that's what is important in the end.

Pearl Jam isn’t in the same stratosphere of fame as Taylor Swift. She is the most famous person on the planet right now.

She’s certainly an extremely talented artist worthy of the praise but at this point she could fart into a microphone for 14 songs and her cult-like fan base would find a way to spin it that it is the pinnacle of artistic creation. So you’ll never get a fair evaluation from the “swifties.”

All that said, I’m sure both albums will be great but giving PJ the edge for no other reason than their record will be judged more objectively.

My guess is that Taylor's will sell more albums in the first week than Dark Matter will sell for the rest of the year.

Looking forward to listening to both. I expect Taylor to have the better album.

It’s going to be a very overwhelming day. Way too much music to digest from 2 of my all time favorites. PJ is up first this morning.  Must respect the elders. Good day to be alive.

It's really a no-brainer, but you know she will outsell them just because she is the current hotness.

I like some of Taylor's music. And I think both of her 2020 albums were better than Gigaton. (ducks)  And I really like Gigaton.

No I haven't listened to her new one yet. Not quite ready for 31 songs or whatever. I understand some are produced by Aaron Dessner, and he produced Folklore & Evermore, so looking forward to that.

Anyway, this Cloud Nothings album rocks and I can't believe people are complaining about Dark Matter.
