What is the political party you most closely align with doing to address your “essentials?”

Thats been your response every time. What does that have to do with it being essential or not? I never claimed they were going to solve anything. Just that they are essential.

A quick google search provided this,

    https://cssrc.us/issue/actonhomelessness

Proposals include addiction intervention and construction of shelters.

California is home (no pun intended) to 30% of the nation's homeless. It had the highest growth of homeless. I'd be interested in seeing a plan from Newson that actually works.

Let me know when 37 million Muricans are homeless. Or can’t drive because of gas prices. Or can’t afford food and die. See the differences between “essential” yet?

I'm assuming it means providing support to churches that shelter homeless. I believe some shelters do not get government support if they are affiliated with a church or other religious organization.
You asked for an example what republixcans are doing. I gave several in 1 resource. You didn't specify how many examples you wanted. How many do you need?

Why does that matter? 37 million have to be homeless for homes to be essential? That doesnt make sense. Again, I'll say it for about the 5th time. I never said meds are not essential. I said BOTH can be, housing AND medicine. It is not either or.

But if you want to play that game, let me know when 37 million are going without insulin? Because its not even close to that, Most diabetics don't even need insulin, so your 37 million is out of nowhere. According to your post, 37 million have to starve and die for food to be essential. your analogy doesn't make sense. See the difference?

The reason California is home to the homeless is because they don't kick them out.  Texas solved homelessness by evicting them. They didn't solve a problem,  they moved it.  It's a national issue that has no state level reasons.

they can both be essential without having the same level of importance, which, I believe, you already acknowledged/agreed with gimme on, so not sure why Halifax keeps poking at this.

Mace brought up housing, food, gas as essential as if in his typical “gee why doesn’t someone do something about those things” in the context of Brandon reducing insulin costs by two thirds through a major piece of legislation, legislation not supported by many repubs, by the way, that impacted Medicare and thus trickled down to all Americans dependent on insulin to survive, in a lame attempt to be critical of Brandon and dem policies. It, IMHO, was a dumb attempt at a knock on a policy that clearly has a positive outcome for millions of Americans. Couldn’t he have celebrated that accomplishment?

So let me ask, would you right leaning folks on here be agreeable to dems or repubs introducing legislation that reduces the cost of “essentials” like food, housing and gas or inflation by two thirds for a portion of Americans, and by extension, many more?

Mace also chose California as his example so I’ll tell you what Tennessee did to solve their homelessness. They made it illegal to “camp” in public rights of way like under overpasses, medians, wooded areas, parks, etc. I suppose three hots and a cot is housing.

There is an ignore feature if you’re scared to share your thoughts or don’t like comments. I suggest you use it (general you). Sorry, not sorry that trying to understand where the fuck someone is coming from is such a pain for some. Maybe think before you hit send as I wonder if anyone doesn’t understand my position and needs me to clarify? Carry on.

Yes,  but to an extent.  A few weeks ago Fox had an article about some California R mayor that solved homelessness in his city.  But all he did was kick them out.

Zero tolerance is the only solution for issues driven by mental illness and addiction,  right?

Can you shed any light on the Community First! Village outside of Austin? Maybe Static can? How its been received, the politics or any objections to their expansion, funding, etc. It'd be interesting to know whether tax payers fund any aspect of it.

Wait. Texas solved it homelessness problem? I work in Dallas. Tons of homeless here. Did some politician say Texas solved the problem?

I'm betting you're being sarcastic Matt?
Same in Austin. Seems to get worse as the real estate and rents creep up

Can you shed any light on the Community First! Village outside of Austin? Maybe Static can? How its been received, the politics or any objections to their expansion, funding, etc. It'd be interesting to know whether tax payers fund any aspect of it.
I haven't dug in depth in a while, definitely a worthwhile venture.  Recently I had heard concerns that there may have been some skimming of funds with the latest expansion, but I would have to dig deeper to see if there is any substance to the allegation.  Sadly as good of a program as it is, it is just a dent in the city's problem.

Carry on.
I didn’t bring it up. That’s what made it weird you wouldn’t let it go for something I didn’t bring up in the first place.

I’d still like to know what solutions the political party you most closely identify with has for your “essentials,” seeing how you don’t seem to believe reducing insulin costs was worthy. I guess CA repubs protecting religion is a sound policy goal. Wow.

See I brought it up again because I’m trying to understand where you’re coming from as a conservative or repub. You rooting for Deathsantis? Think he’ll lower the costs of those “essentials?”

I won’t wait for some convoluted answer that’s as clear as mud but I expect some poster’s seeming ability to get you.

I have to admit, I do admire your creative way of reaching to these conclusions.
I was going to copy and paste all of the times I said I am glad they cap medicine because it is too expensive. But decided not to. I've said it probably 5 times. But I will if you can quote where I said repubs protecting religion is a sound goal. That came out of nowhere, who was talking about protecting or not protecting religion?
Closest thing to that was you took one line from a website I linked to answer your question "protect faith-based organizations that provide shelter and fund local government efforts to increase shelter capacity" and asked me what "protecting faith based organizations" means. I said it probably means offering financial support to organizations like a church that provide shelters and food to homeless. And why not? If a church is willing to use their facility to feed homeless, why not provide some aide in that?
I look forward to your newest creative interpretation.
