What solutions do you suggest for the high cost of gas, housing and inflation? What solutions does the political party that you most closely identify with suggest?mace1229 said:
True. But depending where you live and work, cars are very essential to some. Public transportation isn't reliable or practical for a lot of people who drive 20 miles to work. Not to mention when gas goes up, everything goes up. So skyrocketing gas prices will make groceries, that get delivered by trucks using gas, more expensive. And if you're already struggling then you can't afford it. Not to mention all the moms who drop kids off at childcare and have to rush back so they don't get charged a late pickup fee. They couldn't do that without a car, and most working moms that I know of are in that situation.HughFreakingDillon said:

housing is a human right. but a house don't matter if you can't afford the medicine that saves your life.
And I could also argue that medicine doesn't matter if you're living on the street in a snow storm and freeze to death after you get free medicine.
I'm just saying I disagree that housing and gas are not essential to most people and are real concerns for many people.09/15/1998 & 09/16/1998, Mansfield, MA; 08/29/00 08/30/00, Mansfield, MA; 07/02/03, 07/03/03, Mansfield, MA; 09/28/04, 09/29/04, Boston, MA; 09/22/05, Halifax, NS; 05/24/06, 05/25/06, Boston, MA; 07/22/06, 07/23/06, Gorge, WA; 06/27/2008, Hartford; 06/28/08, 06/30/08, Mansfield; 08/18/2009, O2, London, UK; 10/30/09, 10/31/09, Philadelphia, PA; 05/15/10, Hartford, CT; 05/17/10, Boston, MA; 05/20/10, 05/21/10, NY, NY; 06/22/10, Dublin, IRE; 06/23/10, Northern Ireland; 09/03/11, 09/04/11, Alpine Valley, WI; 09/11/11, 09/12/11, Toronto, Ont; 09/14/11, Ottawa, Ont; 09/15/11, Hamilton, Ont; 07/02/2012, Prague, Czech Republic; 07/04/2012 & 07/05/2012, Berlin, Germany; 07/07/2012, Stockholm, Sweden; 09/30/2012, Missoula, MT; 07/16/2013, London, Ont; 07/19/2013, Chicago, IL; 10/15/2013 & 10/16/2013, Worcester, MA; 10/21/2013 & 10/22/2013, Philadelphia, PA; 10/25/2013, Hartford, CT; 11/29/2013, Portland, OR; 11/30/2013, Spokane, WA; 12/04/2013, Vancouver, BC; 12/06/2013, Seattle, WA; 10/03/2014, St. Louis. You're missing the broader point of the poster that poo pooed dramatic savings in insulin. 37mm Americans have diabetes. So the that this is worth nothing because gas is still over$3 is pretty ridiculous.mace1229 said:

I haven't looked up any stats so I could be completely wrong, but my guess would be that more people and families are seriously negatively impacted that threatens their health by housing costs and gas prices than those impacted by high cost of insulin.
That doesn't mean I don't agree with a cap on meds, I think thats a good thing. Medicine is outrageously expensive. We should cap the cost of it.
But why deny that housing and gas is essential and that many cant afford housing or high cost of gas has made it hard to put food on the table as a real problem too?
It doesn't have to be an either or.0 -
My wife takes Humira. Our copay for that just jumped from $150 a month to $400 without notice. And in a plan we're locked in for a year. That is on top of paying $1000 a month just in premiums for our insurance. So I understand the high cost of medicine.0

Michelle Obama’s White House vegetable garden and her effort to have healthier school lunches and for ‘Muricans to eat more kale was widely condemned and mocked by repubs as being against freedumbs. Just another example, in a long list of them, of putting ‘Muricans last.gimmesometruth27 said:that could potentially be laid at the feet of the gop governors who oppose free healthy school lunches, as well as stopping the programs that educate our youth on proper diet and exercise implemented by the obamas.

I'm just saying I disagree that housing and gas are not essential to most people and are real concerns for many people.
I was just commenting that laughing off affordable housing and and gas as essentials is not accurate, because both are essential to most Americans.
I'm not sure how that is relevant to the topic though. Not every person with diabetes pays a lot for insulin. Some will no doubt have good insurance that covers most of the cost. So a straight up numbers comparison of homeless vs diabetic isn't going to tell us much.
So I'm not sure why you're trying to argue housing nad gas aren't essential. Meds, housing and gas can all be essential, it is not an either or.0 -

You don't think a affordable housing and gas are essentials?gimmesometruth27 said:

Sanofi, along with Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk, make up about 90% of the insulin market in the U.S. All three have announced price cuts or out-of-pocket caps in recent weeks.continues...
People can't afford gas, food, a mortgage but hey if we ever need insulin you got our backs.
I think as long as we have a secure border, secure banking and no threat of WW3 we should be good.
Four more years of this almost sounds too good to be true!
also, a president does not control any of the other things. i'm sure you know this already, so keep up the clown posts.
housing is a human right. but a house don't matter if you can't afford the medicine that saves your life.
And I could also argue that medicine doesn't matter if you're living on the street in a snow storm and freeze to death after you get free medicine.
Meds, housing and gas can all be essential, it is not an either or.
Bring up the high cost of gas with the oil industry, housing with institutional investors and wealth funds and inflation with Putin on the ritz and Xi. All of which have started to move down if you’re paying attention.
I’ll ask you again, what solutions does the political party you most closely align with offer as solutions to your pressing concerns of high gas, food, housing prices and inflation?
Someone said housing and gas are not essential. I disagreed, and said they are essential too.
