What’s up with Fresno?

I live in Fresno. You'll be ok to walk down Shaw Ave. I'm sure there will be a lot of people walking around. It's a busy street, lots of businesses on both sides on the road on route to your hotel. Lots of fast food, restaurants, stores, etccutz said:

If the show gets cancelled last minute I will personally take all 10C takers on a tour of Sacramento and the surrounding areas that will leave you wondering why you haven't sold your home and moved here already....Depending on the numbers I will book a brew bike(s) to begin the tour around downtown-that should socially lubricate each and every one of us. I am telling you...you will never speak ill of this lovely burg again once the tour is completed.....uglybabo said:

.No offense to those cities but if I were traveling and the show got cancelled last minute you could still make something out of the trip.

Homewood Suites by Hilton on Gettysburg Ave or Home2 Suites by Hilton on Santa Ana Ave?

I have both University Inn and Holiday Inn Express, also on Shaw about a mile away. Have to decide which to cancel the day before.
I just wish I knew if I can tolerate University Inn. Many disgusting reviews, but also quite a few that say 1 night for a show is "ok".
I don't care if its run down, dingy and the shower barely works. But I do need a clean bed and no bugs crawling on me or my stuff.0 -

.No offense to those cities but if I were traveling and the show got cancelled last minute you could still make something out of the trip.We post and comment but it’s impossible to know the story behind the story. I have a relative easy job, but it’s one that requires almost daily babysitting, and I’d HATE to take that laptop w me to LA
It’s nearly impossible for me to take a full week off, even three days off could be a headache. So id be flying cross country, getting in and out quick. Sure I could make a little something out of it, but not for too long. Not the best of investments.0 -

I’m flying in for the two Oakland shows and don’t want to stay around two extra days for Fresno. If I lived in the area I’d definitely go. I bought tickets over a year ago for both Amsterdam shows because I was unable to get tickets in the US when they went on sale in 2020. No luck trying to sell those either.0

If there any concerns at all about cleanliness and bed bugs then let your decision be made. Go with the other place.OfThePearl said:I have both University Inn and Holiday Inn Express, also on Shaw about a mile away. Have to decide which to cancel the day before.

Well, University Inn doesn't have any bed bug reports, but a Holiday Inn Express in Fresno does!! https://www.bedbugreports.com/city/ca-fresnoJimmyV said:

University Inn is literally across the street. It's your typical older type motel/hotel. I'm sure some rooms are a little more/less updated than others. If the price is right, and for the convenience, I would stay there one night. I went to a small little party there once like 10 years ago. It was ok....OfThePearl said:I have both University Inn and Holiday Inn Express, also on Shaw about a mile away. Have to decide which to cancel the day before.

No, I didn't hear anything about bedbugs (other than Thorns' joke in another post), but other bugs were mentioned.
If I really thought there were bedbugs, that would be an instant no. I've also never seen even a low end place not have clean sheets, but I suppose there's a first for everything.
I was kind of hoping someone would comment who knew something about the place, to help me decide.
U Inn is so close, you just want it to work, but maybe not.0 -
Hmm. Thanks SheOnceBelieved. Maybe it will be ok for 1 night. I know its right across the street, that's the only reason I was considering it.
Reviews have said some rooms were quite a bit better than others. Hmmm.0 -
Ok, I checked the link given above about bedbugs. The hotel that had a report was a different HIE location and over a year ago, so that's a relief. Several other Holiday Inn Express in the area were found to be clear.
No accordions playing in MY room, lol.0 -
Enough about bad hotels.
Where's the good pizza in Fresno?0
