At the grocery store I shop at here in Canada, the cereal isle has been a ghost town for weeks.  A few items left but mostly empty.  I was quite shocked when I was at the Walmart in port angeles and their cereal isle was completely full.  In fact I didn't see much of any empty shelf space in the store.  I guess the US is having less supply chain issues than we are.
That’s weird. I was in two grocery stores on Friday (poor planning on my part) and didn’t really notice any major gaps. The cereal aisles looked as they usually do. One of the stores didn’t have limes and that was the only thing I noticed missing.

I bought 8 apples at the grocer on Sunday to make a pie for Pi Day.  4 Granny Smiths and 4 Honeycrips. $14.

I literally cannot even keep track of price changes in my store. Certain product are coming in at what I was selling them for. It’s been absolutely insane.

I usually go to the Save On on Blanshard/Vernon by uptown.  Maybe it's just the chain that's having the supply issue.

One of my wife's friends posted a picture of an empty shelf, complaining about the lack of Toaster Strudels for her boys and of course blamed Biden. I lit a candle for her loss.

Oh she complains about other things as well. Gas prices, loss of freedom, mask mandates, stolen elections, etc.

my local record store posted that masks were no longer required by customers to wear in the store, per provincial health guidelines, but the staff would still be wearing them. the one and only comment on the post was "give it up ffs". looked at the guy's profile....as I guessed...freedom convoy supporter. if it was REALLY about freedom of the individual, wouldn't he be ok, nay, ENCOURAGING, people to do as they wish?

I guess it wasn't really about freedom after all.

It’s pretty regular  where we are to not have milk or half n half lately. Go to the milk isle and it’s just empty, except maybe a few jugs of whole milk from the premium brand or something.

I either read or heard it somewhere "gas prices rise like a rocket and fall like a feather". It's interesting how linear and timely the gas price follows the upswing on oil prices, but never seems to follow the downswing to same way.

it's all a scam. gas prices also skyrocket the second oil prices go up. that gas at the pump has been in the ground up to a month already (I know, I used to be the guy that measured how much was left in the underground tanks and did the ordering). that gas isn't costing the companies the price it will cost them when that oil is refined and shipped and delivered.

I used to be that guy, too, but for a single pump for outboard motors at a fish camp my family owned.

Horror story: One time while measuring, I let go of the pole in the tank for a few seconds to lift my head to tell a customer I'd be right with him, and when I turned back around to get back to measuring, the pole had moved and pierced right through my eye! Unfortunately, this predated the Motherfucker! thread.

It healed up fine, but I stuck to selling snacks, refreshments, and bait, and cleaning campers' catches after that.
