  • Yeah I don’t see them working with TM to get an announcement out today without announcing something else very soon. Sounds like they’re in direct communication with TM if they’re trying to work something out for those who had Baltimore tickets. Even if nothing gets done for Baltimore ticket holders, it still is good news. On the other hand, a quick one sentence statement at the end would have been appreciated….”Although we have to cancel this show, stay tuned for the rest of the rescheduled 2020 dates to be announced soon!”

Baltimore is done.  Refunds on their way.   There will be no make up show just like they haven’t been back to Raleigh yet.

My friends: We should go see them at MSG.

Me: We've been to MSG so many times. How about Baltimore?

    My friends: Okay cool.

Well I'm sure they're sold out. That's the major issue here. That's a show you either get tickets at the outset, or you don't get any at all. Especially with the Boston and Philly crowds likely wanting to be there.

If MSG in the spring is the only East coast date, It wouldn't surprise me to see 300+ for a single ticket just to get in the door.  The only shot at MSG I had was trading my spare Baltimore for a spare MSG, and that option is now gone.  Oh well.

Yes the StubHub prices for the MSG show were quite high back in 2020 and will probably be so again for the rescheduled show. The thing to remember about these shows is that a huge amount of the tickets were allocated to the lottery - and while obviously there are flippers with 10C accounts and members who for whatever reason will decide to sell tickets through StubHub, selling that many tickets directly to fan club members is naturally going to hold down the inventory on the secondary market.

That being said there must have been a significant number of ticket holders who have requested refunds over the last two years, and it remains to be seen what they do with those. My guess is that they’ll just throw them back up through TM either all at once or little by little.

So much has changed at ticketmaster over the past 2 years. My experience with EV tix taught the importance of patience. What happened in NJ was appalling. Just about the entire venue was platinum tickets at some point for weeks before. then all the tickets dropped in the day or two before and there were standard seats available everywhere in the building, for less than what anyone paid initially.  This will be the new norm.

Will there be any on StubHub? Wasn't the point of the F2F marketplace to prevent tickets from showing up on StubHub? I guess you could snag tickets with a dummy TM account and sell the login info, but that seems like a pain. I guess that would restrict the number even further, driving those prices up even more.

MSG will be on Stubhub as NY has a law that doesn’t allow restriction of ticket transfer.

With the rescheduled date there will be another onsale after all the refunds. We will have another chance!

I refunded all my shows. So thats 2 first 10 row tickets for each. I wasnt going to let TM hold my money on sheer principle, and I also believed (still do) they cant handle the logistics of this and will cancel and reschedule anyway.

Either way, you can always get a ticket a day before the show or 2 if you try. Always.

MSG will be getting more than 1 show this fall you would have to think on top of an east coast tour. This will drive the price down a lot.

Ah, right! I forgot about that. I remember there being another state with that law. Colorado? I wasn't trying for tix to those shows, so it didn't really impact me.

I don’t want to be too negative, but I read the straight cancellation of Baltimore without any plan for restitution as a pretty bad sign for the prospects of a broader east coast tour later this year.

The BAL news sucks for that show but this honestly is good news for the tour IMO. Means they're making moves. BAL only getting cancelled b/c that arena is undergoing renovations until Feb 2023. Cancellation is a last resort for them.

It has zero bearings on a Fall tour as well. They could play in BAL or just skip it and play PHI/NY which is probably the original plan.
