    Why can’t they put together a list of the merch that will be available and give everyone a week to place orders and then. Make that much of each and ship it out??   The time spent on merch lines and the money flippers make off it is ridiculous.  I’d say a couple hundred people at least missed the entire Hansard set on Thursday be a they were on line and that doesn’t even account for everyone (like me) who didn’t even bother getting merch because the time it would take

    seriously what would be the downside of just allowing an ordering window??

    It is a lot more work for them, so basically you have to do less.  Then you have even more flippers or if they make too much leftover inventory.  Venues getting a cut of merch sales might be in his contract also but I don’t know if that is still a thing

    500 posters with a high eBay value sell out instantly.  2000 posters worth only face value they might not even sell 500. 

    an items value  is a major driver of sales and collectibility. By the time I get to the front of those insane merch lines 9 times out of 10 I buy way more than I was planning on when I entered the line, because of the frenzy and because I might as well as if I change my mind later I’m not getting back in that line a second time.

    Yeah I guess that makes sense.  

    I just wish I’d have an easier time buying a stupid shirt than trying to allocate over an hour of my day to it.  Especially after dropping over $200 for a ticket .

    Looking through the thread, I think I got prices on most merch, to plan my budget accordingly for next week's show.
    However, haven't seen prices on the green beenie hat, the fingerless gloves, and the mug.
    Does anybody know prices of those items?

    Can someone tell me if it actually makes sense to go to the merch booth super early tonight? Show poster is a must but I'm about 90 minutes out from the venue and if I arrive at 3:30 when they claimed merch would open, thatd leave me about 3.5 hours in newark to sit around. Did NYC posters sell out early? I remember at Ohana day 2 they sold out super quick and I had people asking to buy them for double the price off me.

    You never really know if the poster is going to be hot or not that day. I mean you can kind of gather based on your impression and reactions here but you never know. I remember people not liking the Ohana poster but it sold fast.

    Also arriving at 3:30 doesn’t mean you’ll be done at 3:30. It may take an hour plus, it may not. We were stuck in line from 4:30-6:30 on Thursday. Friday some people say they got there at 3:30 and were done at 4. Thursday’s poster sold out fast and Friday’s was still available after the show, although the tour poster was not. You just don’t know how much time it will take and if it will be worth it in the end. People who waited until doors were in line for 45 mins before the show though so it may still take awhile even if you don’t go early. People were still in line when Glen went on.
