why is this great? I am curious as to why you would say this.

Ya...some here have a "sense of humor" thats more than impossible to comprehend from an adults standpoint. Some good examples right here.

She's trying to get a rise out of you. Don't pay her any mind.

It's basically the same idiotic mentality as the people who go to these shows and think that they are "interacting" with Eddie by yelling out obsurd drunken comments and requests.

I am not quite sure how to take this post.

This was probably the 400 lbs clown who got thrown out last night because he couldn't handle his watered down light beer.
  • I was at the show. Arrived in Milw at noon. Checked out the Milw Art Museum. Went to the pre-party. Won the 06 Grand Rapids DVD. Was jazzed waiting for the show to start. Loved it! These evenings have become fewer and farther between for me. All the wife and I talked about the first tens mins going home to Madison was the awful crowd. I don't know why I thought Milw would be different.

Let me say this, the whoos and I love you Eddie's were tame in comparison to some of the idiots last night. Didn't ruin my evening, but was a definite asteric as worst crowd atmosphere on this tour.

I was going to type the same thing, but feared the masses would riot... I think it's great too!

if by "great" you mean idiotic, then I agree. these clowns deserve to have their asses kicked.

and to the original poster, the guy that yelled "you suck" from Sec. 1LC, Row K, Seat 1 was just a seat jumper. seats 1 and 2 in Row K were empty for 90% of the show.

and to the guy sitting in seat 3 in Row K, please SHUT THE FUCK UP! no one wants to hear you "WOO!" like a junior high cheerleader throughout the show, every 30 seconds. please!

and to the mentally deficient girl somewhere in sec. 1RC who kept asking "how's Olivia?" do you really think he is going to be impressed that you know his daughter's name? again, SHUT THE FUCK UP!

nothing, other than the words "thank you" should be spoken during these shows, and even that should only happen when Ed is not singing or playing.

god I hope Chicago is better, though with 4,000 people heading into a weekend, I have my doubts.

Then a guy sitting (next to us) in Left front center row K seat 1 (95% SURE ON SEAT # WILL VERIFY)(marked so the fan club can cancel his membership, and ship him a deads pigs head) got up yelled u suck and left.
Why would this guy get kicked out of the 10club?
(Plus he may not even be the member, ne could be the guest, and may not have realized what he was getting into.

The "hold" for Alpine Valley for July 8 and 9, 2009 was removed this morning though, so Ed must be pissed at Wisconsin.
    This weekend we rock Portland

so i went back through and pretty sure i didn't miss anything... although i very well could have... but what is this about eddie on the floor after the guy got kicked out?
  • What does that mean.....the hold part. Im going to be honest here, and dont get me wrong I love Eddie and PJ, but for him to cancel a concert or skip milwaukee because .01 percent of the crowd were assholes last night would be absurd....not to mention if Pearl Jam was coming, it would be a much larger crowd and that might not be an issue. ALSO, on the point that was being made on how the "milwaukee crowd" sucked........how many MILWAUKEE citezens do you think were yelling "go cubbies!" ? Didnt let those cowards ruin my night.....took each song as it came and tried to keep a smile on my face. Thanks Eddie for a WONDERFUL night.
  • After the guy got kicked out Eddie basically collapsed on the floor in front of him knocked all his stuff over....looked like he had enough and was basically just saying "this is the last straw" Glad he continued on though.

But to the original poster- I don't understand- Eddie got pissed and so he laid down on the stage? What, in protest? Aggravation?

Great performance by a clearly frustrated indidividual. I'm sure people in different parts of the theater heard something different before the collapse to the stage, but the way I remember it was there was a "We love you Eddie!" from some girl that broke the camel's back. He hung his head in exhaustive frustration, like "I give up", hunched over the mic stand and went with gravity and let it take him to the floor where he lay face down for up to a minute. Meanwhile massive cheers kept going, even though I was sitting there wondering if he would wait for everyone to just shut up. When it was clear that no one was quieting down, he got up and did, I don't know, 25 pushups? Exercise to release stress? Then got back in his seat.

At that point my thought was "I would love to hear more songs, but I wouldn't blame him if he just walked off stage right now." But he must've known that it was a vast minority of the crowd that was causing this friction.

"I'm going to say this as politely as I can...shut the FUCK up." I don't know how many times it takes people to get the message that he's saying "You're shouting stuff for me to hear you, I don't like it, just stop." The reason most of us paid real good money was to hear Ed play music, pontificate, joke around, and maybe for us to sing along at the appropriate times. Not to hear some loud guy scream "Milwaukee!" over and over again.

We had one guy in our row who was one of the annoying "screamers". But the kick of it was he was one of the ones cheering the loudest at all of the "be quiet, for me, and for those of you that are here to enjoy the show" type statements. Hello idiot! He's talking about YOU!

One of my favorite comments from Ed was "this must be your first time in velvet seats, huh?" Ahh, Wisconsin. I hope Chicago isn't as embarassing as that was.
AskPearlJam: PearlJama101-guest says: Who's idea was it for Eddie to play banjo on "Soon Forget"?
Eddie: I don't know whose idea it was but it was turned down.
  • Why he bothered to put on one of these classic, intimate shows for that city is beyond me. Lesson learned I guess for Ed. Way to go cheeseheads.

meatheads were in full effect tonight in Milwaukee, as I suspected would be the case.

    sad.

as you'd suspected would be the case??? plese explain.

The guy dragged out was from Chicago from what I hear.

Just like a-hole Cub fans take over Miller Park because Brewer fans are gready and sell their souls (tickets) to them I "suspect" Chicago fans came to the Riverside and ruined it for us.
  • And someone yelled "Freebird!"

    Really. They really did.

They should have been sniped on sight.
Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

Wow, it's sounding like the show was a real mess last night. It's too bad that a few assholes can ruin the experience for some people.

I'm hoping Chicago shows Ed a much better time tomorrow. I have a feeling we will....

I honestly think those situations were at 2 different times. I seem to remember as the guy was being escorted out, Eddie was on his stool, because he was mumbling some things I was trying to hear, but couldn't hear over all the hubbub of the guy leaving. I really do think the collapse was just due to the endless noise. When I heard the girl scream "We love you Eddie!" and then he went down, I reflected back on the 12 year old (?) speech of "You don't love me, you love the image of me that you created in your head" (paraphrased).

  • Again with the milwaukee stuff.......ill guarentee....GUARENTEEEEEE that 20 percent AT LEAST were from IL. Cubs jerseys and shirts everywhere. DONT LET .01% OF THE CROWD SPEAK FOR THE OTHER 99.99%. Other than the screamers the crowd was very knowledgeable and were singing word for word the entire night.

    BINGO

Ed even said Uncle Bruce Springstein said you have to make sure the majority don't have to pay for the minority of fans causing the trouble.
  • And someone yelled "Freebird!"

    Really. They really did.

They should have been sniped on sight.

This was yelled at a number of Cali shows as well... not just at the embarrassment I call my hometown.
