meatheads were in full effect tonight in Milwaukee, as I suspected would be the case.

    sad.

Ed mentioned in Washington that he was sure there would be some real assholes in Milwalkee (or somethingto that effect)

I will preface this by saying that I am a true East Coaster - born and raised in NY and now living outside of Philadelphia - and I know that we can be a rowdy bunch. I made my way to Boston II, and while there were some screamers, it doesn't sound as bad as Milawaukeee was. While this is the "East Coast leg"of the tour, please do NOT associate Milwaukee with the East Coast... they are not East Coast and not reflective of this part of the country.

The actions of the few there that were disrespectful should not be associated with East Coast - or with the majority of Milwaukee area fans. They were a handul of classless fools who likely could drink the finest Champagne and spit it out stating "this tasted nothing like Old Milwaukee!"
I am sad and embarrassed that people act like that anywhere, and I give Eddie a ton of credit for finishing the show and not storming off the stage. It must be hard to perform a show with those kinds of distractions, and I know that when I was watching the show in Boston, I was getting frustrated with the knuckleheads.

I hope Chicago (also not part of the East Coast!) has better shows, and hope that Eddie can end this tour on a positive note. I really hope he leaves this experience with a positive taste in his mouth, and decides to do it again. It was a magical evening for me, and I wish others could sit back and enjoy it at that level.

    PEACE!

totally dont lump them with us in the east GREAT POST

Although I have to say and believe me I say this with no negative intentions, we read more rants about these idiots during East Coast stint as it seems.

I agree there is more ranting about it. But I was at SD1 and it compares easily to DC1 in terms of shouters. I think we east-coasters just are more vocal about how much it pisses us off!

But to the original poster- I don't understand- Eddie got pissed and so he laid down on the stage? What, in protest? Aggravation?
We're all different behind the eyes.

Trent Reznor's done it. Several times. Kicked the keyboard over and walked off. Now people shut up and listen during Hurt. Ed should drop the guitar and walk off. Seriously. Its how you teach toddlers to behave - the fun stops when they misbehave. People are acting like toddlers and maybe deserve that treatment. I'd feel bad for the fact that its a few bad apples, but maybe its the only way.

So 5-10 people act like assholes and Ed should ruin the show for the other odd 2000 respectful people in attendance? I don't think so.

Honestly i don't really know what the solution is here....i absolutely loved every second of the 4 Ed shows i saw this year...honestly maybe even more than the Pearl Jam shows...i dearly hope Ed does this again sometime real soon. I guess you just have to kind of block out the idiots that so desperately need Ed's (or anyones?) attention.

well one thing that might make life easier next time, why not sell the whole thing out to the fanclub. So many fanclub members i spoke to last night are not going to chicago because they didn;t get tix and didn;t want to sit in the nosebleeds after battling chicago traffic. So now instead of fanclub you have some drunk who bought from a scalper sitting there. I say sell the whole friggen tour out to the fanclub, reserve 200 seats for the public at the box office the day of. Seriously, although the fc seats rock this tour....it was a pain in the rear getting them.. refresh...refresh..buy...out of stock...refresh...buy... we will never be happy

That wouldn't work either, since many of the Yellers are probably 10 clubbers. Just because a person is in 10 club, doesn't make them cool or not annoying . . . Trust me on that one. :)

I'm not even gonna jump into the meathead debate other than to say I don't think they RUINED the evening but obviously it would have been nicer without them. I left the Riverside in a Euphoric state. Such a great performance from Ed. Last night definitely made my summer. Anyway, I just wanted to share a few vids with everyone..except the fucking meatheads. I'm sure they'd much rather listen to themselves.

BTW, my suggestion to help curtail idiocy at Ed/PJ shows would be to ban alcohol sales. Especially in Wisconsin. It's supposed to be about the music.

    HEHE!
  • I am torn about viewing the youtube clips from last nights Milwaukee show due to the fact that the freakin LCD screens from all the cell phones and cameras were extremely distracting and annoying. That bright ass light made it hard to focus on the stage!
  • Come on guys, lets not turn this into a East coast vs. midwest debate. Im a huge Eddie fan and was embarassed by the way THE SCREAMERS were acting. there were probably only 5 people doing it, so lets not make this a big issue as far as the whole crowd goes. If theres one thing we can all agree on is that security has to do a better job, and those people around the screamers should get security if and when these asshole dont stop screaming. You could tell that 99.9 percent of the crowd was thoroughly frusterated.......myself included, and was embarassed at the way things were going on.
  • Last night was really fucking frustrating. Ed put on a beautiful show, just to be met with some immature, lightweight pricks screaming just to hear themselves. It was so disrespectful not only to the fans whose seats they took who would have been quiet, but to Eddie. Ed makes a stop in Milwaukee for the first time in over 2 years. Now I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't make it a stop on the next tour. Right off the bat, people were screaming stupid shit (Go Cubbies, shit about beer), and Ed said something like, "Get it out now... I won't be putting up with this shit for long!" But then he has to sit there in frustration even when they don't stop because, really, what can he do? One guy finally gets thrown out... what, 3/4 into the show? At that point, he had already frustrated Ed and all the rest of us.

I'll never understand why these assholes pay good money to get hammered in a beautiful, intimate theater with such a talented, amazing musician, when they could just sit with their frat buddies in their mom's basement and jerk off for the night.

I took off during Hard Sun, because I could tell Ed was pissed and was going to scram right after the show...sure enough, I no more than get around the corner and Ed flys out and passes w/in a few feet of me and jumps in the bus.

We hung out by the bus...somehow hoping he would stick his head out and we could thank him for such a great show.

IT was embarrassing at times, but during 90% of the show I thought everyone was respectful.

More than I can say about a few shows I heard about out east actually. Doubt it was really any worse, I just think its starting to take a toll on Ed and I doubt Chicago will be much better.

Maybe his expectations are too high...I'm sure he would love to do these intimate gigs and have no morons or disagreeing idiots shouting out, but doubt it will happen.

Hmmm....east>midwest? Interesting coming from easterners who somehow think its funny to shout out "you suck" at Ed's show....ya your a classy bunch alright.

Ed set a pretty sharp tone right at the start.."Hey buddy...I don't see you're name on the sign outside...I'm the captain of this ship tonight and if you don't shut up you're walking the plank"

Thought it was funny, but too bad he even had to go there.

Met some great folks from the board last night! Thanks to all...especially Patrick!

    Peace
