This is either going to prove people right or dead wrong like what is happening in India.0 -
How is that comparable to India with the vaccination rates the States has?tempo_n_groove said:

I sit here, listening to a beautiful operatic voice and piano drifting through the window. A sign of the times, I suppose, that the Four Seasons next to us is hosting functions again.
It sounds just lovely.0 -
My airline offered me a refund today for my March 2020 flight.
Glad to hear, Hedonist.

My ex is a nurse practitioner and wants to get our 12 year old son vaccinated right away, I'm opting to wait a few months just to see how it goes.
Do you have an article or link about this?
If science says the vaccines are safe, what is the issue?
A simple solution. If you don’t get vaccinated when it’s approved and available, you don’t get hospital care if you get infected.Post edited by Lerxst1992 on0 -
I’m not sure about denying hospital care (same could be said about cigarette smokers). It would be fair to deny those people any other kind of COVID relief that may get passed around (tax breaks, etc), though. Not sure how that would happen, though.Lerxst1992 said:tempo_n_groove said:

Curious on your thoughts on alcoholics and smokers getting treatment for their related diseases.Lerxst1992 said:tempo_n_groove said:

I'm never in favour of taking away necessary health care, even in cases where we believe that the person contributed to their own condition. None of us have perfect health habits. It's a mean-spirited approach that is bound to increae resentment. Shaming people rarely leads to positive changes in behaviour.my small self... like a book amongst the many on a shelf0

I have yet to meet an alcoholic who actually set out to become one.

It looks like experts are predicting that non essential travel between the US and Canada border is going to happen this summer or fall. Hope it happens this summer. Would love to do a trip to New Hampshire again.
Also it is May already and summer is coming fast. It is odd thinking about the states opening up to us when at the moment I can not even go to a neighbouring province and I have friends and coworkers that think that will be closed throughout the summer. It is hard to listen to all of the negativity each and everyday to be honest. That for me has been the hardest part of the pandemic. The non stop talk about it. I know I am lucky if that is the worse thing that I can say about the virus but its still hard on the head.
edit: it would be one of the hardest parts. Restrictions on the kids and no concerts is up there as well.Post edited by PJNB on0 -

Putting fear into your kid and telling them if you don’t get the vaccination it will kill them isn’t fucked up to you?Lerxst1992 said:

Yeah, after 15 months I thought we were way beyond that crap.0 -
We may be opening up to capacity a little sooner than expected and it might be a bad idea, kind of like what India did. Maybe not, but that is my correlation.PJNB said:

I was just commenting on the fact that the states are way ahead of India with vaccinating people and do not find it comparable since India really did not even close down.tempo_n_groove said:

I think too its too early for 100%. I would like a couple months of easing restrictions to see how it impacts the numbers. Open up as you go all of the way to 100%. I am curious though what some people are expecting when in the US everyone that wants the vaccine has gotten it and the numbers are low. That is coming in the next 60 days its looks like and the summer months are surely going to drop cases along with it. When is it ok to open up 100%?0 -
Pfizer/BioNTech formally asking for full FDA approval with fast track consideration
