Think this tour is like 1 month too early doh. Yeah not sure why all those festivals can't delay a few months, surely it's better for everyone to do that than postpone another year!

Brian Fallon just cancelled his US tour that was supposed to be this spring/summer after being postponed from last year.   Major bummer.  But I got an email from Ticketmaster that was odd regarding refunds.  It says that if you had tickets transferred to you, the refund would be going to the original purchaser.  In this case I am the original purchaser; but how would this affect people who bought through fan-2-fan?

That would be a mess for Fan to Fan. They would have to do all of the work on their own since they were the ones doing the transactions. They could barely handle getting @mcgruff10 money back months after he sold it.

  • I think the fan to fan mess was unique to PJ, which is not to say there might not also be a separate mess with refunds for transferred tickets to other shows.

  • I believe there are no payments required to transfer tickets.  It's just a way to gift tickets essentially.  So it makes 100% for the refund to go to the person that actually paid for them.  This is different than Fan to Fan.

I think fan to fan works like TM's regular reselling site, except for the fact they tickets are restricted to being resold at their face value.   I think this means in refunds, it's follows it's path back?  IE if the last person holding them has them, they request a refund which you pay, which puts you back in possession of the tickets, of which you request a refund from TM.

It makes little sense when the tickets don't change price, but it's because it's designed so everyone gets the right amount of money back (as it's the same portal used for TM's reseller portal).

Thats exactly how it works trickling back to the previous owner until it gets back to the original owner. If they straight up cancel and start over however I think it would be a huge mess with them trying to get refunds back to everyone especially with people from different countries trying to get refunds. I bet some of these tickets have been sold  5 to 10 times at least. Thats one ticket. I know the majority probably have not sold this many times but that is going to add up very fast and all of those transactions are going to cost them money refunding. I have no clue obviously and maybe thinking this way since I want to keep my tickets. Maybe it would be easy for them but seeing how they handled the refunds and customer service during fan to fan I do not have high hopes that this would not be a disaster.

This is why Pearl Jam will never cancel and simply postpone these shows.  Bang on. this would be a nightmare.

  • I sold a ticket on fan to fan just before the shutdown.  After holding the proceeds hostage for a while, Ticketmaster eventually paid me.  But then, when they opened the refund window, the buyer took the refund option.  That refund was charged to me, and the ticket returned to my account.  I then had the option to also request a refund, or keep the ticket.  In the end I said F it, I’ll keep it for some future time.  But that was the system.

I just got my 1st vaccine shot 2 days ago and I had a dream last night that I was parking my car and walking to a venue to see Pearl Jam. I was also carrying a trash bag and found a dumpster along the way to toss it in, I'm not sure what that means... And I stopped at a bar to meet with my buddy where he told me his wife left him to go ride in a limo, I'm also not sure what that means.

    Coincidence? I think not.

Australia and New Zealand are two countries my wife and I want to visit really bad.  However that s a bad time of year because of teaching.   Definitely not a weekend trip.

  • I would take his comment as similar to comments he makes at end of shows like “see you next year” and then they don’t come back for a decade.  He was talking to Australian hosts who asked if they would come there first  and he said he could see it.  What else is he going to say.

Exactly, really surprised others took that as gospel they will be doing a tour in AUS anytime soon. They are not going to re-start internationally.
