LOL, that's plainly copyright infringement. No two ways around it. What exactly are Double-M whinging about? They can't just use Single-M's logos and artwork with impunity. What are they inhaling? My sympathy is not with these guys at all. They might be the nicest guys in the universe for all I know but, damn, change your name. You're a tribute band, not a copycat band, right? WTF?

This is just a lesson to bands that you should still be even a tiny bit creative wherever possible even if you’re a tribute act.  Or maybe not if you want to get famous for a week.

I really enjoyed the Black Circle webcasts during the pandemic.  Those guys were good.
Another great name for a tribute band.

why not go for two and call is Def Jamm?
Deaf Jamm might be more fitting.

  • Legal Jam?

    That's their response?  Lol.  Yikes.

In place of the stick man, they will be using an ambulance arriving at an accident scene.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

This thread. It's more like smoldering, but let them have this one thing. Can't you?

Lazy, blatant copyright infringement. I have no problem with Pearl Jam being aggressive in protecting their intellectual property.

Their response is the most childish thing that could have come from this.

Crying victimhood when faced with the consequence of their own actions... they would fit in well with the modern day GOP.

Legal Jam sounds petty to me.  They picked a name that will always remind of this situation of which many of their fans side with Pearl Jam.   I would pick a different name that isn’t built on a negative situation and move on.

Is Legal Jam a pun? Is it a well known expression for being in legal trouble?

Legal Jam is a terrible choice, haha.

Some better ones I’ve heard suggested here and elsewhere:
Mookie Blaylockk (this would have been brilliant and I think legally they could actually get away with this)

Should've changed it into In A Jam because that's where they ended up with all this tomfoolery. Yet, they are technically IN a Legal Jam, but I sure wouldn't wear that on a shirt.

Just awful. Between the ridiculous original band name with the two M's, their whiny "you broke our hearts" letter, and this new name, they're just embarrassing themselves.

That whole episode is pathetic. Try setting up a tribute band called "Metallicaa" and sell merchandise under that and see how it works out. Surprised they've gotten away with it for this long.

It IS a trademark issue. Too close to the real thing. They should just change their name to PURL JAMM
