and to answer your question, my wife and i are watching Designated Survivor right now. it's pretty good. I think it tries a bit too hard to be 24. and it's not. but it's pretty good.

i spoke too soon. wife and I got to ep 1 of season 2 last night, and we both agreed to quit. we're going to give Yellowstone a shot (yes, Hugh Dillon is in it, but i'm giving it a go since it got good reviews-i don't personally think HD is a very good actor).

for the love of god, watch 24. it's on prime. the last couple "last ditch" seasons and "special events" were ho hum, but the first 5 or so seasons were INTENSE.

I'll second the plug for 24. Great show and concept ahead of it's time 20 years ago and Kiefer on top of his game. Nothing beats those first few seasons. I still remember reading they had to cut the plane explosion from season 1 because 911 had just happened.

My wife and I gave up on Designated Survivor about 5 or 6 episodes into the second season. We really enjoyed the first season though.

FWIW, my wife binged Yellowstone and loved it. I didn't see much of it, so I have no opinion on it.

lol That's awesome. I can still hear those lines in my head with an exasperated Bauer racing to save Palmer, stop Nina or a deranged Tony resurrected.

it's been a running joke with me and my wife since we started watching the show. i always yell "DAMMIT" in a jack voice, same with "we're running out of time". 15 years later it's still good for a laugh.

I have also never seen 24, so that had no impact on my impression of Designated Survivor, which I suppose is good. Maybe someday I'll get around to 24.

I never watched that. Yellowstone is worth watching for sure. I'm just not sure I look forward to another season. Unless Costner's daughter takes her shirt off more.
