    Um, it appears that your party hung onto a completely unpopular family one cycle too long as well.  It cost you the House and now the presidency.  Your arguments are really obtuse at times.

    I'm not so sure about that.  Their voters are entirely devoted to Trump. After he gained votes from every demographic, if all they care about is GOP domination (it is), it might make sense to hold onto the Trumps. Especially when we don't know for sure that he's not going to be inaugurated in January.

    If Trump wins, they'll be totally in line, obviously. If he loses, I'm not quite sure what will happen. I think they have to stick with the "populist" route. I don't think the GQP base is going back to career politicians.

    i personally find it so funny how you always hear republicans brag about them being smarter than democrats in this situation and that situation. if biden had run in 2016, he would have lost. the only reason he's winning now is because independents are energized to get that idiot out of the white house. 

    the house and senate are almost always a very close 50/50 split, so one side saying "we're so much better at this than you" is absolute nonsense. 

    if republicans are so much better at it, why did obama have 8 years in the white house with complete control of all branches for a quarter of that? why is trump going to be a one term president if they are so good at it? nothing here is shocking. republicans generally keep the same seats that they always do, same with dems. some get flipped here and there, but the most of it stays pretty status quo. 

    biden isn't dynamic or likeable in any special way. he's just not trump. that's why he wins. 

    which concerns me for 2024, but that's a way off. i don't see kamala getting the vote out unless she somehow becomes super likable in the next 3 years. the best she can hope for is getting the moderates on both sides but she won't win over the left or the right. 

    it will be nice, if biden does win, to have 4 years of calm and not some lunatic burning down his own house.

    Talked to my mom tonight about the election; she was a big Trump fan but at the end voted for Biden.  She said Trump lost her vote because:  the way he behaved during the first debate and how he acted like a "baby" after being released from the hospital and made it like having COVID was no big deal.

    I'll ride the wave where it takes me......
