November 13th is going to be a great day with two of my favourite bands, Deftones and Soundgarden, releasing new albums. I'm counting the days.

The 1st single sounds great - 'Leathers' is it called? They put it online a few weeks ago and I thought it sounded immense. Got tickets to see them in February, can't wait! :D

I missed their local show this year (support spot in a festival), and highly regret it. I've seen them four times and not once have they done anything but blow me away.

Saw them live last week and still as solid as ever....played a couple of the new tunes but to me, "Tempest" sounded best, guarenteed hit :D

I'm on my first listen of Koi No Yokan and it's really good. Poltergeist is probably my early favorite

I'm listening to it right now, and it's kicking my ass. Between this and the new Soundgardern, I've got some excellent heavy music to get me through the cold months.

Got back from Soundgarden & London on Saturday to find Koi No Yokan and King Animal waiting for me :D

Had one listen to Koi No Yokan so far and loved it, thought it picks up where Diamond Eyes left off. Swerve City is incredible!

Saw them last month in Bmore and they killed it! The new songs fit in nicely, even got a guest appearance by HR from Bad Brains. I'm digging the new album so far, wish they would announce a vinyl release some day!!
If there were no Angels would there be no sin?
  • Loving the new Deftones album. I bought the limited edition bundle :P - CD, Digital Album, T-shirt and lithograph. If you were the first 100 people to purchase this it would be signed. However, I was not lucky to receive lithograph signed by the band. Hope they make the vinyl collection available again and to include Koi No Yokan. I got screwed over on my order when vinyl collection was available for purchase.

Also hope they reschedule the NYC show they had to suspend bcs of damn hurricane Sandy
  • I'm kind of guilty of overlooking this one too cause of the Soundgarden record, I'm three songs in on my first listen and it sounds INCREDIBLE! Almost forgot how good this band can be, I love that they're really melodic, but never in a really obvious way, they make you work for it!

I cannot stop listening to this album. In my opinion, one of the best of 2012 by far. Not one weak track on the album - I can't even name a favorite (ok, maybe Poltergeist). Moreno sounds better than ever, and all the guys are absolutely on point.

Anyway, I saw them this past Monday night in San Diego at House of Blues. Such a solid show. Could have done without the 18+ crowd, though.....

After enough proper listens sober and enhanced.. I have come to the conclusion, this new Deftones album is unreal, completely sick and beautiful, especially when played loud..

Revitalizing this thread: seems Deftones are about to announce a new album.  I've seen rumors of a date as early as next month.  Stoked would be an understatement!

Right on!!!! Let's do this.... I wonder if it will be new songs or the remixed "White Pony". I guess it's time to crack open some cold beers, crank up some tones and do a little research.
