They think this thing has been making its rounds since the holidays. There were a ton of people travelling all over and quite a few sick people. Lots of respiratory stuff. I know in february, at one point, half my office was out sick.
A lot of the hysteria comes from testing and the media. Yes, action and distancing is wise at this point. They just think a lot of us have actually had it already and a lot of the anxiety is unwarranted.
Well that is alarming and atypical I would say. Sorry to hear that.I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0 -

Gunnar Hökmark, chairman of the think-tank Frivärld and former moderate EU parliamentarian, wrote on Tuesday at Expressen Debate that China should apologize to the world for the corona pandemic.“The serious Chinese attacks against Sweden for our handling of the corona virus should be seen against the fact that the Chinese Communist Party wants to escape all kind of responsibility for the spread of the epidemic. Lousy animal husbandry and substandard food standards, along with fear of the dictatorship's power and a culture of silence, are the main reasons why the world today is wrestling with a pandemic, "he wrote. He continued:"It has its background in the inability of a totalitarian system to take into account people's perceptions, their security and life. It is not Sweden or Europe that is the problem. It's China ”.China condemns Gunnar Hökmark's debate articleNow China is going into counter-attacks.According to the country's embassy in Stockholm, Gunnar Hökmark has "attacked and stigmatized" China."We strongly condemn his ridiculous words, and clearly express opposition to Expressen's publication of such a statement," the embassy writes on its website.According to the embassy, China has acted "swiftly, resolutely and effectively" against covid-19 - and it is believed that Hökmark's demand that the country should apologize is "completely baseless and unfair".The embassy further writes that Hökmark's statement is immoral and "a more frightening virus". They also demand that he apologize, both to China and to the world's corona victims."Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0

They just think a lot of us have actually had it already and a lot of the anxiety is unwarranted.I'll take any news that might help lower my anxiety level. That is what is probably more unhealthy for me and others like me who are anxiety prone- no doubt a lot of us. It's a lot healthier to keep as level as possible and look for ways to be healthy and helpful. I thought getting old and semi-retired would be more fun than this. These golden years are feeling a bit tarnished lately.Sorry for the selfish post. I know we are all struggling.Peace all.

And so far what the experts have said has turned out to be right.
Sounds like your doctor friends are very uninformed so I'm going to believe the experts on this.0 -

in MN, COVID testing is being severely limited and people who are coming down with illness are being told that they probably have the virus and to just self quarantine. Not the best way to track and prevent, but what do I know.0 -

Not to be an ass but if he is virus free he should have left that mask on the shelf for somebody that could really need it.....Given it to an elderly person
You're assuming he ran out & bought it.How do you know he didn't have it sitting in a tool box? I have a few myself from having done work around the house.
Maybe let's save the shaming for people who deserve it.
Yeah, I guess I was being a bit of a dick there..honestly, until you are tested, who knows if they have the crud or not..

^ I wonder how quickly that could go to market. It’s not a vaccine, so hopefully very quickly to bridge the gap before a vaccine is available in 1-1.5 years.0
