Booked a refundable room at the Radisson. Looks as if they have a building with older rooms, as well as a tower with new rooms. I opted to be wait listed for a Tower room if available.
The A's are home against the Mariners that weekend.0 -

Walnut Creek Embassy Suites is the perfect spot in my opinion. Stayed there multiple times including the TOTD shows in 2016. Basically connected to the BART station and you can park for free at the station for free on weekends. Plus you get a huge breakfast and the area is clean and safe.pearljammr78 said:Put in for both nights. You can always stay in Dublin or Pleasanton and take the BART right to the arena. Then you don’t have to worry about traffic in the city and parking. Hopefully I will be there with everyone. 4/20 the next day in San Fran is epic too. Going to be a great long weekend.06/22/95, 11/04/95, 11/15/97, 07/16/98, 10/30/99, 10/30/00, 10/31/00, 10/20/01, 10/21/01, 12/08/02, 06/01/03, 06/06/03, 10/25/03, 10/26/03, 09/28/04, 03/18/05, 09/01/05, 07/15/06, 07/16/06, 07/18/06, 07/22/06, 07/23/06, 10/21/06, 10/22/06, 08/28/09, 09/21/09, 09/22/09, 05/20/10, 05/21/10, 10/24/10, 11/26/13, 12/06/13, 06/28/14, 10/26/14, 07/10/18, 08/10/18, 10/02/21,0 -
I figured we might as well hit Oakland too, since we are driving down for the San Diego and LA shows, didn't make sense to drive right past 2 more on our way back home.

Side note----Russian River Brewing completed their (much nicer and much bigger) brewery/restaurant/tap room a few miles north of Santa Rosa in the town of Windsor. Skip the Santa Rosa shop and go to the new one. The weather likely will be fantastic....and the beers are even better. @lexicondevil is totally on point with the wine tasting as well. Healdsburg has some top notch restaurants--the whole Sonoma area is like a western version of New England--quaint towns, open space, hiking--without the bugs and miserable winter weather.lexicondevil said:The Jack London Waterfront hotel in Oakland is a nice one with walkable bars and eating places. I'd go to Heinhold's Last Chance for a fun drinking experience. There's also the Elbo Room. Forge has a good beer selection and wood-fired pizzas. Their fried cheese curds are a thing of beauty. These are all walkable, but there are plenty of other places around there that would be a short Lyft ride. Drexl is a great cocktail bar and is close to a tiki bar called Kon Tiki. I can go on and on about recommendations. If you are a beer lover and have a rental car, you should consider driving up to Santa Rosa to taste the much revered Pliny the Elder straight from the tap at Russian River Brewery in Santa Rosa. Also, plenty of wine tasting up in that area.
I try to stay out of SF as much as possible, but when I do go I make sure to hit up Smuggler's Cove for the best tropical libations. Go to Whitechapel, which is a gin lover's palace. Both of these places have interiors that will make you get out your camera.0 -

Luckily, my wife has family in LA that she will be visiting, so I get off cheap for 3 of the 5 shows. She only wants to go to 2 at the most!!!

Yeah dude definitely going to ride the bart back over- checked with my friends out there and others can confirm but they all said last train over to San Fran is midnight. I’m going to confirm it on their website (especially for Sunday) but we should have no problems according to them.rummy said:
Are you going to ride the BART to the show? Do they have extended hours for events like this? I guess I get concerned that it shuts down at around midnight. The last thing I want is to get stuck with having to take a cab from Oakland to SF...that won't be cheap!RoleModelsinBlood31 said:I’ll be there with the wife. Staying in sf. Have a ton of old haunts I need to visit so we’ll be exploring sf and Sausalito all weekend. Very excited, my wife has never been, can’t wait to eat all that good foodI'm like an opening band for your mom.0 -
The Oakland to SF Uber/Lyft isn't ridiculously priced either....RoleModelsinBlood31 said:

I second this. And if you opt to drive to the show, it’s only about a 15 minute drive (without traffic). I’d much rather stay and hang out in downtown Walnut Creek than anywhere in Oakland. If you’ve never been to SF though, it’s a fantastic city with several great areas to stay, although getting to and from the show will be a little more of a pain. And don’t believe the hype; the bums have always been there. They’re part of the charm.0 -
I appreciate this info. ( my +1 is resistant about BART tho, huntersthompson said:

I am pretty certain they make sure the BART is running until after show time otherwise they have thousands of people in a no man's land in Oakland. It has been a few years, but I always did BART back to my old place in SF after many concerts.
I am trying to figure out why my brain thinks two weeknights in LA is better than two weekend nights in SF.0 -
We signed up for Oakland tickets, too (along with San Diego and Phoenix). Also staying at the Radisson - nice coincidence! But why would you say walking to the venue isn't an option? Just the typical reaction to being in Oakland? LOL
I'll see you on the other side ...0 -
I just looked on the google maps route and it looked like it might not be a great idea to walk but I could be wrong.ClipOnGirl said:We signed up for Oakland tickets, too (along with San Diego and Phoenix).
