The thing I'm getting the most kick out of Luck's retirement is all the fantasy footballers losing their shit.
My league's rouge idiot (every league has one) used his last two picks in our draft last night to take Gronk and Luck. This was AFTER learning of Luck's retirement and knowing full-well that Gronk's retired.

He's the only player in the 9-year history of our league to never make the playoffs....obviously.
I watched a guy draft Ohtani as a pitcher this year.  This was AFTER I mentioned that he wasn't pitching this year in the chat during the draft...

I'm 99% sure that if Brock's parents ended up naming him Gary he would have been cut the first week of his first NFL camp.  No way Gary Osweiller is making over $40M in the NFL.  And there is no way the Colts would ever entertain the thought of trying out Gary Osweiller at this stage in Gary's (non) career.  Kudos to the parents for making Brock at least $30M just by creating a birth certificate with a good football name.

I hope they give Jacoby a legitimate shot at being the starter. He's young and may have some hiccups, but he was far from terrible in the small sample size we got here in New England.

Belichick helps, certainly, but the guys on the field make the plays.

Game plan. Same with Cassell. Jacoby's 2nd start was close for a while after he hurt his shoulder.

Oh that’s right. Because Tom Brady is a system qb, right (despite him playing for multiple offensive coordinators and multiple different kinds of offensive schemes over the years)? Anyone can succeed there. Eli Manning would have about a million passing yards and 500,000 touchdowns had he played in New England. Ha

He'd definitely have a better career w-l record.  But this is about Bill. You don't have to disagree with every post I type. If I said the earth is round. You would argue that it was flat

Well if you can explain how a life long defensive minded coach can have so much of an affect on his team's offense, I'd be willing to concede a point. But you've never done so whenever I've asked you about it. The amount of qb's who have had success in NE under him is such a small sample size that your argument is ridiculous. Belichick is not the offensive coordinator. He does not call plays. He has never groomed a quarterback, ever.

With Brissett, he started two games. They went 1-1. He had a 61.8 completion percent. No touchdowns. No interceptions. An 83.9 qb rating. You're telling me there is some Bill Belichick magic to that performance? All NE did with him was play it safe and put him in a good position to not make big mistakes for a couple of games. Every team with half a brain tries to do this when their backup is in the game. And his percentages were similar the next season in Indy when he played 14 games.
