I doubt it. He is a little different than the typical NFL player. I could see him becoming an engineer or something. If he loved the game he wouldn’t have quit. Who would have thought a golfer from Stanford has more toughness in his right pinky finger than a quarterback from Stanford.wndowpayne said:Also wonder if he will be back in a year..

if i was one of luck's advisors or hype guys i would have told him to say he is retiring due to health and wear concerns only and to specifically avoid mentioning anything about being mentally broke down. that was pretty dumb considering he is supposed to be smart. that is something that Jon Snow would do.

Maybe he just doesn’t really give half a shit what a bunch of fake tough people think and just wants to live his life the way he wants to?Jason P said:if i was one of luck's advisors or hype guys i would have told him to say he is retiring due to health and wear concerns only and to specifically avoid mentioning anything about being mentally broke down. that was pretty dumb considering he is supposed to be smart. that is something that Jon Snow would do.0 -
How odd this season so far....Luck decides he can not battle no more on the field.
Brady decides he can STILL do his battles on the field. One would think these decisions would be reversed, go figure.
I wish Luck well and look about your mother she's all good with your decision.

He got paid a lot of money to be tough. You don’t get paid a lot of money to do stuff that is easy. I am not a Colts fan or a fan of the NFL. It is a dull sport. I just think the dude got paid a lot of money and quit. I understand it, but can still say that he got paid a lot of money to fight through the ups and downs.Cliffy6745 said:

it's still dumb and unnecessary, feelings and thoughts aside. like leaving a half eaten burrito out on the counter when you know ants will overrun it during the night.Cliffy6745 said:

Hey, if his body isn't up for it anymore, he did the right thing. Years from now, I could see him as a scout or a coach or even a GM. Always seemed like a smart guy.
Jeez you're REALLY passionate about defending the honor of this football player. Fanboys are gonna fanboy I guess. Wait till you see this stupid twitter post by OJ Simpson. I'm not even a Andrew Luck Lover like you and even I was a little pissed to see this....Cliffy6745 said:

Huge fanboy. If luck stuck around and played 16 games this season, there’s about a 5% chance I’d watch one quarter of a colts game.
Its just amazing to me that when someone makes a decision for their health and life, people have opinions on what they should or shouldn’t do.0 -
Well you know some people just care about what affects them. A narcissist in the making right there.

He played with a lacerated kidney. Don't question his toughness. He said that his ankle wasn't getting better...that stuff has to weigh on him mentally. My guess is that doctors probably told him he would be out for another year and he is just frustrated and done with it.bootlegger10 said:

exactly....the Colts gave him a shitty O-Line and he got destroyed. It's unfortunate that our O-Line should be much better this year thanks to the new GM.Cliffy6745 said:

Apparently that weirdo Irsay is already talking a possible comeback...and he noted how much money Luck is leaving on the table. Like even if he decided some day to unretire, why would he want to play for this guy again?

Hopefully the youth of America understand that they probably aren’t going to be in the position where they can just give up after four tough years. They won’t have the millions to fall back on.
I understand health is a factor but this is the NFL. What do we expect? Don’t take millions and then you get injured and walk away. Regardless, he did it.

You are in good hands with Chris Ballard as GM. We keep talking in Chiefs Kingdom how we wish we hadn’t let him get away.Gern Blansten said:

Hopefully the youth of America understand that there are some things bigger than sports, especially one’s health and well being and that for every Andrew luck there’s a thousand former nfl players with mental and physical issues that don’t allow them to live normal livesbootlegger10 said:Hopefully the youth of America understand that they probably aren’t going to be in the position where they can just give up after four tough years. The NFL has no problem cutting ties with players when they get hurt but yeah, he owes them something0 -
