They will still do arena shows.  Lots of them.

They only play Wrigley if the Air & Water show is going on, so once they announce the dates for that, if they are Aug 8-10, then Wrigley 2020 is confirmed lol.
It was fun having those jets whiz by.

You have hit the nail on the head.  Why do 20 arena shows in 9 or 10 cities.  When you can do 6 baseball stadium shows in 2 cities. And fans will come from the 4 corners.
    Can’t disagree..

Sure, If you want a significantly inferior tour. Arenas can run similar revenue if priced right.

Their deal is the intimacy with the fans and music in an arena setting.  They make an arena feel  small. Stadiums they're a mile  away no matter what .

Perhaps if they got a decent stadium light show and large color screens and charged 70% less for upper deck seats it'd be reasonable.  Charging the same price FOH and BOH is insane

With the stadium shows, one benefit was that it seemed like every 10 Club member who put in for the lottery was awarded at least one show, which probably wouldn't be the case with a smaller venue. So look at it that way if they head that route again in the future. Think positively!

Sad to think that my last ever PJ show might have been Seattle 2 last year. But what a way to go out. The only way I’m going to another ball park show is if the play Fresno Grizzlies stadium and that’s NEVER going to happen.
    Nah. Many more to come.

We almost skipped Fenway 2 last year. Seattle had been a blast and the conversation became, "At these prices, do we really need to do both Fenway shows?" I didn't really need to do both. I had just started a new job and had no timeoff. It promised to be a late night followed by an early morning. It was unlikely that anything was going to top Seattle 2.

But then I started thinking, "What if?" What if something were to happen? To them. To me. What if Fenway 2 turned out to be the last chance I would ever get to see them? So we went to the show and I had the same great time I always do.

Now it's a year later, and they have not been onstage together since that night. I'm glad I went.

We need some tour dates on the calendar.  Planning the flights, trains, the hotels, the shows,  etc.... so much fun.

Got a random text from a guy I worked with 20 years ago asking about a rumour he heard about PJ playing laketown shakedown next year  here on Vancouver Island.   That would be insanely cool to see them on my Island, but that festival is usually headline by leftover 80s bands.   Maybe 8 to 10k people.   The festival would need to up it's game to attract PJ.

I stand corrected on the 80's comment, but an easy google search showed a TC article with 5000 attending night 1 for incubus, and 8000 for night 2 with snoop dogg. Not excactly numbers that scream PJ.

I think Sunfest has similar attendance (country music festival).   I'm not sure how big that venue is.

As much as I'd like to see PJ play my home turf (which would be fucking amazing) they seem a little too big for the festival/venue?

I agree $140 a ticket is not cheap as I balked at paying that for Beck and Cage last week.

But for premium PJ seats that is insanely cheap price and PJ charges way less what other top bands charge for premium seats.

The  unfairness is charging nearly the same price for obstructed view and upper deck  stadium seats as the first ten rows.

I think the big thing is ticket prices have really surged in the past few years.  I thought paying $275 for right up front GNR tickets 3 years ago was mental, but right up from Rolling Stones tickets were 495 (if you could find a pair not marked as platinum).  We went with side(ish) stage tickets that were 100 less, but that's mental.  That was a once in a lifetime bucketlist kind of thing.  No way I'd pay that a 2nd time.

While PJ prices have definitely gone up, they haven't gone up to the astronomical level other artists are charging.   They're still "cheap" on comparison.  The only thing PJ really has against it, is the oldschool way of charging the same price through the whole venue.  The people up front are getting a bargain, while the people in the nosebleeds at the back are probably paying a little too much :)

I was made aware of a "Marketing meeting" regarding Pearl Jam at a location in MN last week by a friend of mine.  Unfortunately he wasn't attending it, but it points to something in the works I'm guessing.
