I took advantage of Dimples goon-out-of-business sale (wish they wrren't!!!) and got a bunch of stuff at 20% off.  Best scores were these three:

    Plus a cool book:

I pre-ordered this on last year, and it just arrived.  It's interesting but not quite what I'd hoped for.  I was hoping for less dialog.  And the sound quality is very murky.  I suppose that's intentional, but I can't say I'm thrilled.

Most of it came out of a box of old vinyls that used to belong to my wife's parents. I'm actually still going through the box. I also inherited their old record player a few years ago.

Listening now to their old Blues Brothers OST.

    Classic!

I finally have purged my brain long enough by not listening to radio much any more to put this most excellent LP back into my collection:

It is the 70s wrapped up in one album,  with its love, sex, drugs, and gilded excess all together.

Well said, both.  Considering the convoluted emotional tangles most of the group were in with each other at the time, to produce a work this good in the midst of all that is truly amazing.

The one thing I never understood is that front cover.  Interesting enough over all but what on earth are those dangling balls all about?
    wtf

How do you like The Visitor?  I don't have that one.  Tuscaloosa is great!

Another marvelous thrift store find.  This kind of thing seldom comes along in great shape for just a couple dollars:

I could do without "Life is a Carnival", but otherwise a very fine collection!

( MedozK this might make a good "Weakest Link" title!)

The man playing guitar behind the clothes line is Paul McCartney. It's a pic of him from when he was a teenager that he used for the cover of his '05 album "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard". Really great album. Produced by Nigel Godrich, who has produced most of Radiohead's stuff, and he really pushed/challenged Paul to write the best songs he could.

The cartoon looking one is the band Menomena (pronounced "mah-na mah-na" like the old Muppets song). This is a great and delightfully weird indie alternative album. I had a copy years ago when it first came out, but sold it when I went through a little phase of not being as much into vinyl. Kicked myself for doing so no long after and was glad to fine a cheap used copy in good condition.

Both are well worth the listen, but could not be more different from each other.
